This is the cable car which goes up and down Table Top Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa. It slowly revolves as it descends.
The Lydbrook Cable Works was built in 1912 by Harold J Smith.
In the first world war the works had lots of contracts and employed 650 people. At the end of the war business slowed down and the official receiver was brought in around 1920.
Edison Swan Electric Company bought the business in 1925.
The Cable Works closed in 1966 and the Factory was bought by Reed Paper Group, And then was taken over by Swedish Company SCA.
The Sca Factory finally closed around 2003.

So by this point I've reinvented the cable clamp, done some quick repairs on the bike lever (using a hammer), and attempted to compromise the structure of the ankle joint - all to get just a little more motion out of this cable. After two days on this one mechanism, I'm getting close to having a foot with 50% of the motion that I was originally shooting for.
But 50% is better than nothing, and I /really/ don't want to have to attach these control rods straight to the hoof!

Protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the majestic Mat Chinchang Mountain range has been earmarked as one of the sites within the Langkawi Geopark development and it is part of the Mat Chinchang Formation, the oldest rock formation in the country with an age of about 550 million years.

The southbound Thames river crossing on the M25 - the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, a cable stayed bridge.
Upon completion, the bridge was Europe's largest cable-supported bridge. As of 2010, by main span length, it is the second largest cable-stayed bridge in the United Kingdom behind the Second Severn Crossing (6 m longer and opened in 1996) and the 44th largest cable-stayed bridge in the world.
