Heavy fog floating through the Aspens in Southern Colorado.

Taken in Iceland I thought I would create the perfect get away from Civilization. Two image's from the same place, but we move the cabin into a different spot has the views were much better.

The mountain range in the background contains the volcano Seljahjallagi.

Auch diese Hütte gehört zu einem der vielen Bauten des Wildgartens, die nur aus Naturmaterialien hergestellt wurden.

This hut also belongs to one of the many buildings of the wild garden, which were only made of natural materials.

This cabin is located on some high desert back road 13 miles from nowhere . The land once traveled by Indians, now part of a ranch along national forest land. Despite looking lost sunlight finds it way to create this oasis.

The Cabins were built in the 1930's by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the Valley of Fire.

While visiting Yellowstone National Park we hiked several miles to the cabin at Cabin Creek. The cabin was constructed during the 1930's and somehow has survived wildfires in the area. The windows were barred and the doors padlocked.

Happy Window Wednesday!

Sculpture by Deborah Butterfield. Cabin Creek, 1999. Bronze, 88 x 122.5 x 30.5 inches. Cabin Creek is the name of the location where Butterfield found a variety of materials for this sculpture. First, she assembled the found materials to form an image of a horse. Then each piece of wood was meticulously translated into bronze, then reassembled and patinated. Such a process allows Butterfield to create works appropriate for outdoor placement.
