Chicago & North Western Railway 401 in Chicago, Illinois on May 19, 1966, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. I marked the slide as 401, unfortunately, the car configuration does not match the C&NW 401 as it appeared in the 1980's. It's possible the car was rebuilt between 1966 and 1980, or perhaps the 401 was replaced with a second car numbered 401. I'm still researching. Here's what I found so far, on donrossgroup.net

C&NW 401 "Wyoming" was built by Pullman in November 1925, Lot 4923, as Pullman Co. "Monte Viso". It was rebuilt as "Capitol Road" and sold as C&NW 400, business car, in 1948 and rebuilt as 401 "Wyoming". It was sold to a private ownership and renamed "Carolyn". It was resold to Ozark Mountain Railcar and apparently resold.

The gravel kits fitted to the aircraft are clearly visible- gravel deflector (similar in appearance to a wide ski) mounted to the nose wheel, and vortex dissipators, using compressor bleed air, in front of each engine. The gravel kit allows the aircraft to operate on unpaved runways which still can be found in northern Canada. Only the -200-series of the B-737 can be fitted with this modification due to the bigger ground clearance of the engines.

Thompson LNER rebuild (Doncaster, 1944) class A2/2 4-6-2 60503 "Lord President" at York - c.1955.

Originally constructed (Doncaster, 1936) as Gresley designed class P2 2-8-2 No 2003, the loco spent its early years allocated north of the border, but moved to (what became) the North Eastern Region in 1942, before rebuilding. It then moved around to various depots both in England and back in Scotland before settling down at York in 1950, where it remained until withdrawal in November 1959.
