The wild plum blossoms attracted my first butterfly sighting of the season, a gray hairstreak, along with a lot of other insect activity like the little wasp flying into the scene. There were also a few red admiral butterflies along with some bumblebees and flies.
Buzzard being buzzed by another raptor. Could be a Kestrel or maybe Sparrow hawk. Possibly a Peregrine but not sure. Very distant so hard to get a reasonable image to ID.
We’ll Buzz has been hanging around my office for a few appearances on my photo stream. Today however it seems he may have stayed too long as something up high looks set to pounce!! For we’re here visiting toys in peril.

You can tell it's summer when....you start hearing buzzing and finding insect bites all over. One thing I'm NOT a fan of!! ^^'
Not your usual civic feature, a WW II German buzz bomb Graces the County Courthouse in Greencastle, Indiana.
Since Toy Story seems to be the happening thing around Disney nowadays, I thought that I would post a photo of Buzz Lightyear. It's a shame that this attraction is in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom because I think it would have made a great addition to Toy Story Land at the Disney Hollywood Studios. What do you think? Today was a very busy day at the office, I ended up taking a late (and short) lunch break and needed to venture out of the cubicle walls so I ended walking the canal for a while.
I passed by these flowers which were buzzing with bees; figuring I hadn't had a chance to shoot yet I pulled my camera from my bag and fired away and crossed my fingers for a good one before heading back to the office.
I really like the way the colours and light came out in this so I'm pretty happy with this very quick lunch hour photoshoot.

I have several sunflowers in my garden. They came from the seeds the birds dropped. Now the bees are enjoying the crop. Later the birds will again enjoy the seeds.
Years ago, I was working on a project for Ft. Benning in Columbus, Georgia. My young family was with me for a couple of weeks, enjoying the pleasant temperatures and low humidity in a typical Georgia summer that made us pine for Minnesota winters.
Young soldiers enjoying time away from the base filled the downtown area's streets. Without exception, they sprouted close military haircuts. The haircuts captivated my 5-year-old son's attention, and he asked for one. We took him to a military barbershop, and it didn’t take long before he emerged grinning and well pleased with his buzz cut.
This Wood Duck doesn’t appear to be enjoying its similar appearance. Each morning for the last couple of weeks, as my wife and I slowly drove past this wetland pond, he would take one look at us and then glide off into the water toward the tall reeds a few feet away from the muskrat mound.
He seemed embarrassed to look drab rather than sporting the brilliant colors that make wood ducks a favorite of a lot of Minnesotans.
Currently, he is in an eclipse molt that makes him look a little scruffy, less colorful, and more like a female. During this time, he will lose all of his flight feathers. His traditional red eye, bill pattern, and colorful wing patches give promise that this isn’t a permanent stage.
During this period of molting, which can last 3-4 weeks, flightless males often break away from females and join other males and juveniles in secluded parts of wetland ponds to help reduce their visibility during this time of vulnerability to predators.
By early fall, the male will regain his bright feathers, and he will bolster his self-worth enough to attract females before their annual migration.

Finally got somthing to contribute to the MISSION: Water! Not entirely thrilled....but it'll work for now.
So, Norfolk is flat. No mountains means we enjoy an uninterrupted view of the fabulous sky so we can enjoy the light shows it delivers.

Along with Woody, he is one of the two lead characters in all three Toy Story movies. Tim Allen voiced the character in the Toy Story film series and the Buzz Lightyear movie.
