Submitted for the Macro Mondays theme of “buttons”. This is a string of blue buttons taken against a handmade rug. There’s a similar photograph earlier in my photo stream, of red buttons against a red and black tiled floor. Taken with the iPhone, with my partner holding the string of buttons steady. This photograph is a tribute to my Mum who was born a hundred years ago this week. She died in 2012 from Alzheimers and Vascular dementia. My Mum was a fabulous Mum. For example, she convinced us that doing homework during the holidays was really good fun. And if we were really really good, the best treat was to be able to play with the button drawer. So I have my own button drawer now of course, full of my favourite buttons. The rug was made by my Mum.
Macro Monday theme - Less then an Inch
1/2 in, 3/4 in, and 7/8 in button. Less then an inch from top to bottom and side to side.
Happy Macro Monday and have a great day!
These buttons were found in my Mum's old button tin. When I was a child my Dad was a postman and these buttons fastened the heavy overcoat he used to wear in winter. Those were the days when postmen wore a strict uniform.
Button for Macro Mondays.
Thank you for your views, faves and comments.

For macro mondays 'plastic'
I think the lockdown gave me far too much faffing time today, and I'm still not happy...but after all that effort I'll post and be damned!
This is a dutch saying; who counts his buttons is uncertain about something and tries to make a decision with the buttons of his vest, blouse or shirt as a tool.
(thought I would share with you all) This is my project for the Caardvarks challenge. You can read more about it on my blog if you like.
Bye!
Shall I sew them to my bonnet?
They are flat, about an inch across (each) but the photo makes them look three-dimensional.
Work jacket and hat with fun if not functional buttons.
They remind me and the children of nursery rhymes like "Incy-wincy Spider", "Here is the Hive", "What do you suppose", "Mr Frog", "Ladybird, Ladybird", etc.
In-camera App: illustration because it was a bit "boring" otherwise :)
Looking Close... on Friday: Buttons
Macro Mondays 'button' theme.
These buttons are part of a set I bought a few years ago and have never used. They are handmade from polymer clay.
I had two shots ready to choose from this week, I actually preferred my other image but it was similar to a shot I took for MMs 'buttons and bows' theme back in 2017 so I went with this one.
The image measures a tiny bit over 2" (each button is just under 1" in diameter

On address my wife made. She sends material away to a company who makes the matching buttons and belt.
While searching for a button, I found a Panic button and many others...buttons everywhere.
But from an old metal box I found many buttons carefully collected on wires. The orderly mind of my father, perhaps, or grandmother, to keep similar buttons together?
We'll never know.
This is less than 3.5 cm / 1.38 inches.
