New Forest Donkeys
There are many different types of livestock put out to pasture in the New Forest including the famous New Forest ponies, pigs and cows. One of the more overlooked animals which can be found in the forest is the New Forest Donkey. Found throughout the Forest, only around 300 donkeys are turned out into the forest in comparison with the 3,000 New Forest ponies. Male donkeys (known as a ‘Jack’) and female donkeys (known as a ‘Jenny’) are all owned by the New Forest’s commoners, people who live here and have rights to let their animals graze the open forest - this tradition goes back many hundreds of years.
I am going to be a bit ON/OFF with Flickr this week as I am looking after my eldest grandson who is eight, whilst his parents are in the Greek Islands. As well as doing the school run, I need to deliver him to various after school clubs which include a piano lesson, swimming, dance and football training. It appears his clarinet is missing, he needs it for his school music lesson which is on Thursday, so I will make a special trip to my daughter’s house to collect it. If it is not there then it will be at a long stay car park at Gatwick airport! I also have to check his homework which needs to be handed in at the end of the week. I could not believe just how much 'stuff' came with him and for his feet alone; school shoes, black trainers, white trainers, football boots (studs), football boots (astro), tap shoes and crocs! I have also agreed that I would take him to the local playpark, cycling in the forest and that he can make a Biscoff cheesecake! Oh, and there is a school disco as well!
We're in for 4 days of ice pellets/snow and rain and temps ranging between 4 to 10C during the day, to 4 to -14 overnight. Spring season is a bit of a roller coaster.
Movement & light - Berlin Hauptbahnhof illuminated (Festival of Lights from 14th to 26th October 2008).
This has been such a busy but exciting week...apart from working overtime...I bought A NEW CAMERA!!!...and walked all over the city at night to capture the Festival of Lights.

Have a wonderful weekend!
It looks so small here - please look at it on black in a larger version View On Black - to see all the lights...and the fast lane.
3/52 - Weekly Photo Journal of 2020! Work, work, work....deadlines wait for no one but end the week with goals achieved and ready for the weekend. The 'home' button has never felt more apt.

"In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: It Goes On." -- Robert Frost
Long and busy week last week, and another one ahead.
I dyed my hair yesterday (well, this morning, at midnight) and I think it turned out pretty well, especially for using a filler and professional dye myself for the first time ever.
I am also itching itching itching to get my next tattoo...ideas and a rough sketch already done. now I just need to get into the shop and set up an appointment! :)
It's been a busy week! After a wonderful weekend in Big Sur, I flew back down to San Diego with Art on Monday to move from my apartment to a condo. It's literally only 2 blocks down the street! I was fortunate to have Monica, my mom and aunt come help me. They are the best! The whole moving happened in about 4-5 hours. :) It's really nice living in a condo because it feels so much more like a home versus living in an apartment or a room/studio. I'm enjoying it so far!
I spent the next few days unpacking, picking up stuff I needed for the new place and settling in. Also made sure Art got lots of sun and beach time while down here in San Diego. ;) The one day we hit the beach with Tricia, the weather was 75 but the water was a balmy 57 degrees!! How is that possible?! To say the least, I did not get very far in the water. :(
Then this weekend I headed back up to Orange County to spend time with family. We had a ceremony at temple for my grandpa who passed away in January. His wish was to be spread in the sea. I did not go on the boat but some of my relatives did.
I haven't gotten a lot of sleep this week. I'm sure my eyes look tired and I have major bags under my eyes. But thanks to dodge and burn tools in photoshop - I've reduced some of it! I'm still messing around with these tools. I wish I had known about these tools before! They work wonders.
This was taken in my new bathroom. I was too lazy to go downstairs to get my tripod from my car, so I handheld my camera to take self-portraits. So I had no idea if I got it in focus or not. I was concentrating hard looking in the mirror. You can see some of the lights reflected in my eyeball.
Down to only 3 weeks left of my 52 week project! O_O ahhhh, I can't believe it.
New record, 57 hrs. As for the next week, I'm scheduled for the same amount of hours. The only problem is that I'm scheduled for 4 - 11 (close) shift tomorrow night, but I cannot work it due to baby sitting issues. My GM said that he'll try to find someone to cover it, so hopefully, I'll have a day off tomorrow too. I love all the hours, but I love sleep too. Also, there's a mountain of clothes that need to be washed, amongst other things in the apartment that need to be cleaned.
