This Daffodil is doing the Limbo to avoid the bullet:-) The expression ,dodging the bullet,means: A narrow escape.

This is a multiple exposure piece taken from MOMA. In one exposure, there is a room filled with bullet balloons, symbolizing a brief relief of pain. These balloons float around and linger. Sometimes, they know you are calling their name. Other times, they are stand offish and stay by themselves in the corner. As in the case of the art by Félix González-Torres, the installation is interactive and the second exposure features a photographer who had his lens pointed in my direction holding a Magic Bullet. This piece is by General Idea, a Canadian art collective. Two of the artists died of AIDS in 1994. Such a sadness.

Vlaamse Gaai - Eurasian Jay (Garrulus glandarius).

Not the best in the series perhaps (check 2nd comment), but anyone familiar with woodpeckers and jays in flight will immediately recognize the torpedo-like shape in which these birds fly.

Unlike most other birds, they only beat their wings intermittently, gliding throught the air - spending well over half their flight time in this pose.

Probably a property that comes in handy in their usual forest habitat. (-;

A Thursday edition of the Laurel-Bozeman turn featured four blue locomotives up front, followed by only twice as many cars. It's not called the Bullet for nothing...

As the clouds rolled in I had to pull out the ND filters and play around with some long exposures. Here I used the 9 Stop ND in the early morning light.

Our levels of gun violence are off the charts. There's no advanced, developed country on Earth that would put up with this.

Those who say federal legislators can "never" pass gun restrictions should look to moments like the Civil Rights Act of 1964 or the Affordable Care Act of 2010 to see how those predictions can turn out to be wrong.

A Northern Mockingbird rockets off its perch like a little feathery bullet.

I think I'll head off to the waterfalls today, I've never managed to catch them in autumn colours, so today is as good a day as any. It's just a pity I smashed my filter last time round, but I'll manage somehow. This is a black and white of the beach between Nash point and Monknash. Bulletproof is by Alabama 3, who I'll be seeing again in spring.

Did I say bullet? well... not so much! I took this picture in one of the most historical areas of Athens, Thisio. The "not so bullet" train here belongs to Athens' oldest urban transit system which started its operations back in 1869. Originally the line was connecting Thisio with Athens' main port, Pireaus. It's definitely not world's best or most modern subway, however as you ride the train you get to pass by some very historical buildings like the one in the background. This is Temple of Hephaestus, built between 449-415 BC, dedicated to Hephaestus, god of Fire, Metal working and Craftsmanship. Hephesteion follows the doric order, it is located at the north-west side of the Agora of Athens, on top of the Agoraios Kolonos hill and from the 7th century until 1834 it was used as an Orthodox church. If you ever find yourself in Athens as a tourist don't miss the chance to take the train from Pireaus to Athens downtown and for a little while feel like you took a bullet train and traveled through the ages.

I had a great couple of hours on the beach yesterday dodging bullets from the advancing storms. I loved the shape of this wild cloud as it raced towards me. Needless to say I got drenched. The sun just peeped through as it said goodbye. Bullet Proof is by Alabama 3.

A sand martin in bullet mode

An interesting "fun" rock found in the Nowood gravel beds. This cobble was found in the terrace gravels along the Nowood River Road between Bonanza and Tensleep Wyoming. The white sandstone has some red hematite cemented sandstone nodules that tend to erode out faster than the host leaving holes in the sandstone. Some of the holes are still filled with the red nodules. To some imaginative people, the holes look like “blood filled bullet holes” in the sandstone. Since the cobble is out of place, its age is unknown but it is similar to sandstones seen in the Lower Cretaceous outcrops found in the nearby hills.
