Dutch landscapes -
The regions have an excellent climate for bulb cultivation. Quite a lot of rain falls in the (due to the proximity of the sea) relatively mild autumn and winter, while the relatively cool but sunny spring and usually also the summer are dry. There is therefore agricultural activity in the region for three quarters of the year (not in winter).
After flowering, the flowers are headed and whether or not processed into flower wreaths. In the summer, when the plant has dried up, the bulbs are lifted, the plant remains on the land burned and the bulbs are peeled by hand - a nice extra income for the youth and seasonal workers from home and abroad - or (with the hyacinths) ).

Tulip fields seen from above with a drone.
These flowers are often grown primarily for the bulb, not the flower. After they have bloomed, the flowers are decapitated. The flower may be used in floral wreaths. In the summer the bulbs are dug out and the plant remains are burned in the fields.
This is a second version of the same shot. I filled some empty spaces on this one and did a small cut to straight it out.

Bollenstreek - Netherlands - Purissima
When the bulb fields are in bloom, this region is one of the most colourful (and the most visited) in the world.
I have hundreds of tulip pics in my archive, but I can't resist taking some new ones when I pass the fields on my way to work. :-))

Because of an exhibition I am preparing for next summer with "IN A ROW" as its theme I am making a number of collages with photo's shot between 2005 and 2017. This is the eleventh I am uploading to Flickr. More will follow. In this one: bulbfield in the Schermer (N.-Holland) and ivy leaves in Alkmaar.
Cedrics of Wivenhoe were a regular Travlesphere contractor and painted ex Parks of Hamilton Volvo B10M-60 Jonckheere Deauville P599 K908 RGE in the tour operator's colours. On 17th April, 1995, it was in Valkenburg on a bulbfields tour.
