Built in 1834 Vidimyrarkirkja is one of the best preserved turf churches in Iceland. Built out of driftwood, turf and rocks the church is well kept and more or less original. Property of the National Museum Of Iceland the church still serves as parish church.

Had to be a ship containing a smaller vehicle in the colour scheme of one out of a list of classic themes. I already had an idea for another wedge craft built around the new trans-yellow canopy, so thought I'd give it a whirl.

Built in 1983-1985, this Modern building was designed by Conklin and Rossant as part of the construction of the Myriad Botanical Gardens, which began construction in 1971. The building consists of a large cylinder that is 224 feet (68 meters) long and 70 feet (21 meters) in diameter, clad in glass, which bridges a sunken lagoon and is surrounded by gardens, walkways, and terraces, with a cylindrical concrete projected bay at the north end of the structure above the north entrance, and a rectilinear addition from the early 21st Century at the south end of the structure, which houses the main entrance and a small gift shop. The building serves as the centerpiece of the Myriad Botanical Gardens, and is one of the most striking buildings in Oklahoma City.
Built in 1470 adjacent to St Olave's Church it was the main entrance to St Mary's Abbey which was once the richest abbey in Northern England. The abbey is just a ruin today in the York Museum Gardens.
Following the Dissolution it became a court house and a pub. Today it is home to York Museum & Gallery Trust.
Built another of these as part of making a tutorial for it :) I developed the foliage for this quite a while ago, but the trunk is different, and I thought it'd be interesting to cover a new type of trunk in the tutorial.

Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe (AT&SF) Number 2912 was built in January 1944 by Baldwin Locomotive Works. It was preserved near the City Hall in the City of Pueblo, Colorado. U.S.A. Seen in July 1973. The locomotive is now behind the Pueblo Union Depot . Photo: Jim Bisdee.
Built for John Trumpy in 1958 and measures 71.5 feet in length. Today known as the h) BERNADETTE she was built as the a) AURORA. The weather turned crapy and started raining as I took this picture making for a poor photo. She is Northbound on the AICW in Chesapeake, VA making about nine knots.
Built in 1948 in Le Havre, France, Pelican was originally a double-beam Arctic fishing trawler, one of five identical ships built in Chantiers et Ateliers Augustin Normand, the shipyard founded by the Normand family. She was sold to a Norwegian firm and spent the next 19 years fishing the Arctic.

The Old Lake Worth City Hall, also known as the Lake Worth City Hall Annex, is a historic site in Lake Worth, Florida. It is located at 414 Lake Avenue.
The building originally served as Lake Worth's elementary school until June 1928. North Grade and South Grade Elementary Schools opened the following fall. The building was subsequently remodeled to provide for the Commission Chamber and administrative offices. On May 18, 1989, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
The Lake Worth Historical Museum is located on the second floor, and features antiques, tools, clothing, photographs, and other local and historic artifacts.
With a quickly growing population in the 1910s, the city of Lake Worth recognized the need for a school. After the Palm Beach Farms Company donated land to the Palm Beach County Board of Public Instruction, a small, wood-frame schoolhouse was built in 1912, with Lucerne Avenue located to the north, Lake Avenue to the south, and Federal Highway to the east. Upon opening on October 20, 1912, 24 students were enrolled, which nearly doubled by the end of the school year.
The expanding population soon necessitated the need for a larger schoolhouse, with the school board commissioning design plans and construction in 1914, to be funded by an approved $25,000 bond. The new, two story schoolhouse included 12 classrooms, each of which contained either 36 large desks or 45 small desks. After the construction of other schools, such as Lake Worth Community High School in 1922, the city government purchased the building in August 1926 due to its need for space for administrative functions.
The building was renovated after being sold to the city government, with classrooms being converted into offices and a telephone being installed. In July 1927, the former schoolhouse was rededicated as city hall. Lake Worth was devastated by the effects of the 1928 Okeechobee hurricane, including city hall. Along the northwest corner of the building, the exterior wall in its entirety collapsed, while the north tower was destroyed and the bay at the northeastern side of the building was removed. The roof suffered complete destruction. As a result, Lake Worth was without a functional center for city government. City hall operations were temporarily moved to the Lauriston Building, then located at the corner of Lake Avenue and Dixie Highway. In late 1928, architect Floyd King drew up plans for restoring city hall. Upon completion of restoration in 1929, the building featured a Mission–Spanish Revival design, a radical change from the previous architectural style.
Administrative functions for the city government resumed after the building reopened in 1929. The building continued to be used for city hall operations until April 1973, when nearly all local government departments – with the exception of the electrical and water utilities – moved to the civic center building along Dixie Highway between Lake Avenue and Lucerne Avenue. In 1980, the Lake Worth Historical Museum opened on the second floor; it features antiques, tools, clothing, photographs, and other local artifacts relating to the history of Lake Worth. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 18, 1989.

I'm hugely proud of this model - I was approached via Instagram by Damon Jones, the Vice President of Singer Vehicle Design to reimagine their Montreal car in LEGO.
The Montreal car was the first Singer car Damon saw in the flesh in June 2015 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, he went on to join Singer in 2016. and now runs the company.
Built by the Birmingham Water Corporation to provide access to the worker's village during the construction of the reservoir complex in the late 19th Century.

St. John's Cathedral is a cathedral of the Episcopal Church in Jacksonville, Florida, U.S. One of the oldest congregations in Jacksonville, it became the seat of the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Florida in 1951. The current building dates to 1906.
The congregation was founded in 1834 as St. John's Parish. It is one of the seven original parishes dating to the reception of the Diocese of Florida into the Episcopal General Convention in 1838. According to the cornerstone for the present Cathedral, the first St. Johns Church was built in 1842 and burned in 1862 during the American Civil War. In the early 1870s, Edward Tuckerman Potter designed a new St. Johns and initial construction began in 1873. The church was completed and dedicated in 1877. This building burned in the Great Fire of 1901, which destroyed most of Downtown Jacksonville, and the next year a new church was designed by Howard Nott Potter of the firm Snelling and Potter. St. John's Cathedral was completed and consecrated in 1906.
St. John's is the only cathedral in Jacksonville. Inside the building is cavernous; built in the Gothic Revival architectural style, stained-glass windows line the walls. In 1983, Advent Glass Works restored or repaired all stained glass in the Cathedral, the Cloister and the Cummings Chapel.
The St. John's Cathedral School is sponsored by the Cathedral and Diocese and includes infants to Pre-K 4. It also receives funding from the Jessie Ball duPont Fund.
Clara's at the Cathedral Café is a cooperative project between the Cathedral and the School of Culinary Arts at the Clara White Mission. Every Friday since April 13, 2007, the students and staff from the Mission's culinary school prepare a lunch that is sold to the community. The meal is reasonably priced and attracts workers from downtown businesses and retirees.

The Circ Hotel by Hosteeva, located in Downtown Hollywood, Florida, was a highly celebrated project that marked the first new hotel built in the city's downtown core in nearly 40 years. The property transitioned through multiple corporate structural changes—moving from its original lifestyle launch to being operated by Sonder and finally being managed under the Hosteeva banner.
2018: A Historic Grand Opening
The hotel officially celebrated its grand opening in June 2018. It was built as a primary anchor for the $200 million mixed-use Hollywood Circle development, a major revitalization project sitting right next to the ArtsPark at Young Circle. Developed by Hollywood Circle LLC (led by Charles "Chip" Abele Jr.) and funded partly by EB-5 investment, the 12-story, 111-room boutique hotel was widely praised as the catalyst designed to usher in a modern "lifestyle" renaissance for Hollywood's historic urban district.
At its debut, the hotel featured heavily publicized upscale concepts, including:
Olivia Restaurant & Bar: An authentic Italian eatery spearheaded by South Florida restaurateurs Piero Filpi and Marcello Sindoni.
The Muse Rooftop Bar & Lounge: A trendy pool-deck bar offering 360-degree panoramic views of the South Florida skyline.
Presto Market & Coffee Bar: A chic, ground-level neighborhood hub.
While the building originally operated under standard hospitality management agreements, the hotel landscape shifted with the rise of tech-driven corporate hospitality brands.
The Sonder Phase: For a period, the hotel was managed by the flexible-stay hospitality company Sonder, operating under an apartment-hotel style model.
The Shift to Hosteeva: Following Sonder's exit, management of the hotel rooms was taken over by Hosteeva. Under Hosteeva's tech-driven platform, the hotel rooms were adapted into modern boutique accommodations blending classic hotel amenities (like the 12th-floor rooftop pool, fitness center, and a newly established Melbean Coffee Shop) with seamless, contactless vacation rental conveniences.
Recent Real Estate Turbulence
In early 2024, the residential portion directly above the hotel (the 25-story Circ Residences tower) was converted from luxury rentals into individual condominiums. Following slow condo sales, the overarching development entity faced severe financial stress, resulting in a $133.4 million foreclosure lawsuit filed in mid-2026 against the developer's remaining unsold units. Despite the legal and financial restructurings occurring with the residential portion of the tower, the boutique hotel rooms managed by Hosteeva continue to actively welcome travelers visiting the Young Circle district.

Built in 1817 by Robert Stevenson, this light used to help ensure a safe passage across the Forth prior to the road bridges being built. Although the light still pre-dates the rail bridge (1899).

Built in 1889-1893, this Richardsonian Romanesque Revival-style building was designed by Charles Erastus Colton to serve as Syracuse City Hall. The building is clad in rough-hewn stone with a hipped and gabled roof, roman arched bays, one-over-one windows, a large and tall rectilinear tower with an open belfry and pyramidal hipped roof, smaller cylindrical towers with conical roofs, a front loggia with arched openings and pink granite columns, and oxeye attic windows on the side gables. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. Today, the building remains in use as the seat of government of the city of Syracuse, with additional city offices being located in nearby buildings.

The Room of Requirement is one of the most memorable things for me from the HP books/movies. This was a fun build to do all in,all, though it was challenging getting the piles of junk to look okay. I am not sure how well the rug turned out, let me know your thoughts : / I feel it would look better if it were not parallel to the border.

Built in 1945 at Brighton rebuilt Bulleid pacific 34016 Bodmin was based at a variety of Southern Railway and Southern Region sheds: Exmouth Junction, Ramsgate, Bricklayer's Arms & finally Eastleigh where she was withdrawn by British Railways in 1964.
Rescued from Woodham's scrapyard in Barry in 1971 she was initially preserved at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre. Bodmin then moved to the Mid-Hants Railway not long before my visit and first steamed in 1979. After a second overhaul 34016 ran on the mainline for several years.
34016 left the Mid Hants Railway in 2014 is now at the West Coast Railways depot at Carnforth. It is currently being overhauled at Carnforth with a view to having the locomotive returning to running on the main line.
Built in 1890 by W.B. Chaffey, the Rio Vista (Spanish for river view) mansion is being restored to its original condition. The comprehensive restoration program has included replacing ornate timberwork on verandahs, reinstating original doorways and staircases, and returning the drawing room to its original décor with recreation Victorian wallpaper and original colour schemes.
Built in Queen Anne style, the house features original furniture and fittings such as Italian marble fireplaces and Victorian leadlight and stained glass windows.
Rio Vista was first occupied by WB Chaffey and his family in 1892. It stayed a family home until the 1950s. The house was built during the height of the Chaffeys’ success, but the Chaffey Brothers Ltd Company went into liquidation in December 1895 and the brothers suffered financial ruin, causing Rio Vista to fall into a state of disrepair.
WB Chaffey moved into Rio Vista with his second wife Heather (Hattie) Sexton Chaffey and lived here until his death in 1926. Hattie Chaffey lived in the house until her death in 1950 at which time the house was purchased by the Mildura City Council for conversion into an art gallery.

The Eva (#13K3752) was built in 1937 at the Suzuki Brothers Boat Yard as a Japanese–style double–ended gillnetter. She is 29.6’ x 8.0’ x 3.0’ carvel plank construction, cedar over oak. She was originally owned by Henry Jacobson, from Finn Slough BC. She required rebuilding by the Kishi Brothers Shipyard in the 1950s. In the 1960s she was owned by Gus Jacobsen (Henry’s nephew), also of Finn Slough BC. In late 1990s Al Mason, a highly skilled model builder and shipwright, traded a beautifully constructed scale model of the Eva for the vessel herself. She fished commercially to 1993 with fishing licence #23653.

Finn Slough is a tiny Fraser River fishing community located at the south end of No. 4 Road in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. The community has approximately 30 residents who live in wooden houses, both floating and built on stilts, along the marshy river bank. Many of the buildings were built between the late 19th century and 1950s and many have decayed severely, while some have been carefully restored. Finn Slough was founded by Finnish settlers who came to Richmond in the 1880s. Most of these residents made a good living from fishing and became local landowners.

Finn Slough (or sometimes Gilmore or Tiffin Slough) can be found on the south arm of the mighty Fraser River in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. The Slough is bounded on the Fraser River side by Gilmour Island and on the north by a dyke built to protect Richmond. Access to homes on the Gilmour Island side of the Slough is by a wooden draw-bridge, creating a definite sense of isolation from the nearby urban areas of Richmond and Vancouver.
Built in 1972, this plane was delivered to NASA and was primarily used as a training aircraft for new space shuttle crews. After the end of the Space Shuttle program in 2011, NASA quickly retired the aircraft from service since it no longer had a purpose. Today, she enjoys her retirement at her new home at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville.

Kintetsu Railway Co.,Ltd.: with just over 500 km of tracks, Kintetsu is Japan's largest private rail company excluding Japan Railways Group. It operates in the metropolitan region of Keihaishin, linking the cities of Osaka, Nara, Kyoto, Nagoya, Tsu, Ise and Yoshino. Most of its network is standard gauge, although it also has several 1,067 mm gauge lines southeast of Osaka. All are electrified, most at 1500 V DC.

The Blount Building is an historic seven-story Chicago school style office building located at 3 West Garden St., SW corner of Palafox St., Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida. It was built by Charles Hill Turner in 1906-1907 for local attorney William Alexander Blount on the site of the three-story Blount-Watson Building, which had burned on Halloween night in 1905. The building features so-called Chicago windows and contains in its exterior the contain the three parts of a classical column, with the first and second floors being the base of the column, the third through sixth floors the shaft and the seventh floor the capital. The first floor exterior has been changed over the years reflect different retail needs, but the exterior of the upper floors remains intact.
In 1989, the Blount Building was listed in A Guide to Florida's Historic Architecture, published by the University of Florida Press, which described it as a "Fine example of turn-of-the-century commercial architecture in Pensacola.".

Built in 1987 this Soo Line SD60 leads a southbound BN around the yard at Galesburg. The 1st 21 of these units were return to lessor and went into the lease pool for CEFX. 13 of them ended up at INRD, but this one did not. It wasn't too uncommon for SOO/CP power to run thru on potash trains bound for unloading on BN, as is the case here with nice pair of SOO 60's in charge.

Overfair Railway #1915 - Built by Louis MacDermott in 1915, #1915 is one of only five 19" gauge 4-6-2 pacifics built for the 5 mile, 19" gauge railroad called the Overfair Railway at the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco. #1915 is 1/3 scale with 26" drivers and a boiler pressure of 200. Yes, I built yet another Joker head sculpt within a week... 😬 Very much like the movies themselves, while Joaquin Phoenix's Joker was phenomenal, Heath Ledger's performance in the 2008 The Dark Knight will forever hold a special place in my heart... One of my all-time favourite movies that I will never get bored of watching!
In fact, this character has been forever been on my to-build list, but I never had the confidence to give it a try, and the success in Joaquin's Joker bust earlier gave me the courage to finally go for it.
I must say my worry didn't come out of nowhere, it was considerably more challenging than the first Joker bust! The eyes, nose, and again my favourite part of the entire MOC, the mouth all took me multiple trials to get them right, but luckily I still managed to pull it off and finish the project with 19 hours (I cheated a bit on this one as the 19 hours were spent across 2 days, but still... I am proud of myself! 😝) And perhaps among all challenges... nothing can compare to the struggle of digging up purple pieces in my inventory! 😭

Built by the Newcastle Manufacturing Company in Delaware in 1848, B&O #57,"Memnon" is one of just a small handful of surviving steam locomotives from the 1840s. One of 6 such engines ordered by the railroad, Memnon and her sisters featured a new, 0-8-0 wheel arrangement, and were one of the earliest designs specifically built as heavy freight locomotives. They featured blind, center drivers to allow the long wheel base to negotiate sharp curves. This engine served the B&O during the U. S. Civil War, hauling troops and equipment for the Federal Army and in the latter part of its service life, was affectionately known as "The Old War Horse." Retired from service in 1892, the engine was restored for exhibition and was designated a National Historic Landmark. It is considered by the B&O Museum to be among the least altered locomotives in its historic collection.
Built in 1920, by the St. Louis Car Co, The Milwaukee Electric Railway and Light Company (from 1938, The Milwaukee Electric Railway and Transport Company) #846 lays over at the Elegant Farmer Station.
It was great seeing it used for the Christmas Train.
