The owner ( a builder ) was happy to allow me to photograph his van.
He assured me he didn't trade under this name however.
As I passed it, it certainly brought a smile to my face.
It shows there are still some people with a sense of humour.

This display represents a traditional small builder’s merchants yard of the mid-1920s comprising a brick office, a stone hovel and an open yard.
The stone cutter’s hovel originally stood at the entrance to Bilston Quarry, Wolverhampton.
Small merchants stocked a little of everything and the yard is crowded with a variety of traditional building materials such as slates, copingstones, bricks and sanitary ware
Bronze sculpture nearly six feet tall on Pittsburgh's North Shore (outside Alcoa building) as a a tribute to the builders of Pittsburgh’s two renaissances.
The NRHS convention is over and I begin my trip back to SoCal by way of the Empire Builder to Seattle.

I currently have several n.o.s. Pomona Tile on ebay. The Pomona Tile Co. used to have a manufacturing plant in my hometown (Arkansas City, KS). It Burnt down in the late 60's or early 70's. A local judge bought all the remaining stock from their warehouse. I was lucky enough to purchase the remaining stock at his estate auction. Some of the tile I purchased I can date back to 1957. So, some of these tiles must have set in their warehouse for awhile before the fire.
The following is a quote from a 1957 brochure about the designer series tile. "Inspired by architects; Builders' and Decorators' requests for something really new in ceramic tile, Pomona Tile commissioned five world renowned contemporary designers to create an entirely new concept in decorative tile." Dorothy Liebes was one of the artists hired. She was a designer of fabrics and won several awards for her designs. Examples of her "KASHMIR" tile are very rare.
