I saw this bug doing something unusual, in fact funny, one late afternoon in the forest. After I took the photos I relieved it from its predicament and discovered why it could not flip over on its own. It was stuck on a patch of sticky web presumably left by a spider. I had thought it was practicing yoga!
Look at this face, no wonder they call them Baby Faces... Only "his" mother could love him!
Another note- they are soft & not hard, so you don't want to step on one of these

Mating bugs.....the wind made it very difficult to make pictures as the flowers were constantly moving. It didn't bother these two lovebugs however...
We went out for a day of hiking and nature shooting in the New Territories in Hong Kong. As it was an overcast day with a lot of haze, we decided to switch to macro. It is amazing how many bugs you can find just in a single path while walking around and actually looking for them...You need a different eye too if you switch from wideangle landscapes to macro..... These orange, red and white creatures caught my eye and only through the lens I saw they were mating......and very much look like colorful cockroaches.... I couldn't let this chance go by and shot some action ;-))
ive called these fairies since i was a little girl...they only look like bugs when you get close to them....of course if you were a tiny magical creature wouldnt you turn into a bug when some human was looking at you =)
had wayyyy to much fun getting this shot... One day I will have a better camera to where I can play with depth of field, etc so I can get better results, until then, ohhh well!
