This is a wood bee just before dark. They feed off the flowers of the butterfly bushes and then sleep there all night.
I saw these bugs when I was picking some tomatoes. They kept running away from the camera, so I had to stand back and zoom in to catch them. I like how their red bodies contrast with their black legs. I am not sure if they are poisonous, but usually bright colors = bad.

Pflueger May Bug Lure Ad
Also known as the Assassin Bug. Found it outside our lanai door this morning. This deadly insect preditor is great to have around the house but don't get bit. Bite can be very nasty to humans. Wheel Bug is slow moving, not agressive, and will only bite if mishandled. :)
bug #1, 2 and 3 are consecutive shots.
See this pic www.flickr.com/photos/lordv/143553105/ for what it is doing in this shot.

This fearsome looking insect I spotted while walking along a woodland path, The orange spot on its back and the pattern along it;'s side seems to suggest a forest bug after looking in my insect book. Again confirmation would be welcomed.
Flames all around...lol...Like a bug is going to go fast enough for flames. The other side had something diffferent, but, very busy street with daughter. so, I didn't get that one.
On friday, this bug looked like a white, fuzzy/pointy, caterpillar-ish thing when it was captured. It was definitely insect-like in its legs; but it had little branch-y things poking out all over it.
By friday evening (see earlier pictures) it had changed to a green flying insect.
By saturday evening, its wings had color and it was darker green and more evil looking. Sorry for the poor focus it is very very tiny.
