This was hard to see. I got lucky and saw a little movement, looked down, and saw this guy. He blends in so well.

I used an additional 2x lens while shooting these macros. This tall coarse grass is the kind that I believe my grandmother used to call "johnson grass." The bug--I don't know. Maybe a "shield bug" variety.

After pounding the chili peppers, garlic, bugs, coriander and green onions to make a paste, we got to taste our handiwork. The bugs had a kind of "sharp" taste, whereas the eggplant and tomato jeow had milder flavors.
