Small bug in our hotel room (you can't really avoid the bugs in Costa Rica - even in the luxury accommodation).
When I photographed this bug on a Holly bush leaf in the garden, I knew it didn't look like the invasive Asian Lady Beetle. I assumed (hopefully) that it was a good bug. As it turns out, that is not the case.
This appears to be a Mexican bean beetle. I included a paragraph from Wikipedia and a link below to the page.
"The Mexican bean beetle, Epilachna varivestis, is a species of lady beetle which is a notorious agricultural pest. It is one of the few North American lady beetles that feed on plants rather than other insects. It is found throughout Mexico and the eastern United States, and is abundant in the wetter and more heavily irrigated areas west of the Rocky Mountains. It does not tolerate extremely dry areas."
My mother's new kitten, which she has been telling me since she got it that it would have to go. Hopefully, she'll just keep saying that for the next 18 years.
I found this bug in my yard and took it's picture before I put it back in the dirt. I didn't squish it, even though I think it's a queen ant, because I figure if they're outside it's not really fair to squish them since that's where ants are supposed to be.
I wish they would use the trees for their nests!
Oh, and you may be wondering where the rest of them were... so was I.

What bug is this? In swedish it's called Bärfis (berry fart). Don't know why...maybe it farts on berries???
This was on our hallway wall last night. It was about 3-5cm long, I guess. Apparently it is a house centipede. Scutigera coleoptrata.
