Amazing colors on this simple insect (some type of beetle) and morning dew making it "just perfect"

Canon 550D + Bellows + 50mmm manual Industar lens.

It's very interesting to find many wasps attaching themselves to a tiny tiny twig hanging upside down to "sleep" at around 6:45-7 PM. They sure need to rise early I guess.

Water Drop captured with SX50HS + Raynox + DIY pop-up flash diffuser.

Black background is created since the other vegetation did not get enough light from the flash to shine back :)

Clicked today evening in Kothrud. Trying out my old-and-faithful gear.

Canon 550D + Sigma 70-300 + Raynox + pop-up-flash fired through DIY diffuser.

As basic as it gets :) still as beautiful as it gets!

Where else would you get these dashing colors in nature?

No.. just sleeping :)

Two wasps sleeping facing each other.. looks like they are ready for horn fight!

Shot using extension tubes and a single off camera flash triggered via pc sync cord. Flash location is lower right of camera.

Tortoise Beetle.. for a change in natural light

Live Stack of 6 shots (almost 4X magnification)

Sometimes one-word is all you need. I love orchids and their many faces 8-)

I was minding my own business when I saw the little blob on the floor move (it was the size of 3 small grains of rice put together maybe) and while I initially jumped up, I got myself together and came at it with my 3580. Amazed at the beautiful textures on this little guy, reminds me of Chanel handbags :)

Wow, another explored photograph :') thank you so much everyone! This is way down at the bottom, but this is one photo I actually like & don't feel ashamed about, being on explore :) thank you!

Edit: This went up (from number 400 something to 200 something woohoo)! Thank you so so so much people :') I feel less of a deceiving sell out now :D well .. I'm still deceiving because this is less to do with my photographic skills and more to do with this amazing tiny beast but wow :'D

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! Like a stain-glass outline, this insect, of the diptera family but I'm not sure which, was sitting on the window outside & somehow my 3580s were able to focus on these beautiful set of wings.

Power & beauty, I leave you with this.

Au revoir, lovely eyes!

Jumping spider on a left above purple flower. Hopefully the colors make the spider even more dramatic.

Stack of 3 shots.. eyes, legs and front hairy paws (not sure what they are called)

Stack of 4 handheld shots with Canon 550D + Sigma 70-300 + Raynox. Digitek flash fired through diffuser.

Single shot was not enough to do the justice for its long wings.. so went on with two shots pano plus one more image for additional details on the face (notice he is eating something!)

3 handheld shots of live (and flying) dragonfly.. two for wings one for details on the head.

Hope you like it.

An inside of an inside of an orchid.

/taken with my hacked 3580macro lens.

Even more closer look at this handsome dragonfly.

Single handheld shot of live (and flying) insect.

Found a dead fly. Decided to play with it using my 3580-macro. Because I'm twisted like that :) plus with the tiny focusing distance on the thing, I could never do it while alive.

I found the mouth (or is that the nose in between their eyes?) interesting! I didn't even know flies had such huge (relatively) mouths (or noses. or whatever that thing in between their eyes is)! Weird & open.

Stack of 5 hand held shots taken with 550D + Sigma 70-300 + Raynox

Pastel Colors, Leading Lines and oh.. yes the fly too :)

Jumping spider jumped on a on reflective tile... and I was there to say hello :)

Trust its a Hornet (or a Yellow Jacket Wasp, experts can confirm)

One random evening I was walking up to my room when I saw these two going at it on a scarf left at the top bannister of a somewhat narrow stairway. My natural inclination was to jump back in fear and shock and the sudden disruption led one of them, the female I (sexistly) presume, to jump away. It was only then that I realised what was happening as the other one, the male (sexist prejudice again), jumped along with it & was unwilling to let go of their connection. Much to my childish debauched humour, this happened a few more times with the female trying to escape while the male latched on. Since I use a manual (and SLOW) hacked 3580macro lens, and these are the teeny tiny moths you get in London/houses, I thought I had lost the wonderful opportunity to capture them in action. An hour later, much to my surprise, they were still at it & so I decided to try my luck again & quickly capture this before the female had finally had enough :D
