Assignment for Week 2: Photograph an object 5 ways, including one that shows the object's purpose and one the instructor would never have seen...Tough assignment!
Dominic was the one who brought the bubbles outside and got the whole family playing together. He had a tough spot yesterday writing a paper that was so concerning, the school counselor called me to come pick him up right away. But he assures us that he's doing better.
By the way, Gazillion makes the best bubble juice ever. It's amazing. It makes giant bubbles that last a long time and the liquid even smells good!

Have you run into Bubble Ben on the streets of Northampton yet? We love him! Kids love him! What's not to love? He's Bubble Ben! Every time we've crossed paths with him, he's been between Thornes Market and the parking garage, making humongo bubbles that splatter about an eighth of a cup of soap on kids running and jumping to catch and pop them.
What takes place during these episodes is a classic case of Instant Karma: beautiful glistening bubbles billow out of Ben's bubble lasso as the wind catches them and gently lifts them up and across the promenade, carrying flirtatious thoughts of lazy summer days... only to be chased down by kids with fingers sticky from Herrells' ice cream, leaping and jumping at them in an attempt to slap and poke at their delicate buoyancy. And when successful, soap rains down on them, into their eyes and hair... and they stop briefly to poke those sticky fingers in their eyes that now burn - a bubbles revenge... and when they recover they do it again and again. All patiently choreographed by Ben. Parent's giving him tips for this dance... It's like they are saying thank you for entertaining my child for these past five minutes AND for also pre-soaking them in preparation for their evening bath!

Bubble gum! Great for the ultimate candy lover. Bright, fun colors! (the pink is even brighter in real life than on the computer screen). A fun piece that will never go out of style.
"The Baron of Bubble" entertains passersby in Father Hennepin Park, Minneapolis, with especially large bubbles.
Someone filled the pool in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery with bath bubbles.
At the 420 celebrations.
A "false colour image" as nasa would describe it. ;-) Now I know why they do it, because you can extract all sorts of invisible surface details, in this case a bubble. If you want to know how I did it read on...
I converted the picture to grayscale within Adobe camera RAW. I then adjusted the various colour channels till the details on surface appeared strongest. Finding a suitable colour for split toning was difficult, but this orange colour seemed to be both pleasing to the eye while providing enough contrast to view the surface. The background was noise reduced to the max as it was pretty noisy after the adjustments.

I am having a hard time getting a soap solution that lasts. I am happy with the beautiful designs. It is amazing to me how the soap behaves so differently from bubble to bubble, even when it is from the same batch.
Again, it seemed that the Basildon water feature was the target of a joke because it had been turned into a bubble bath.
our new Sleepforever dress arrived the other day. As soon as I opened it I knew it had to go on Bubble with her matching blue eyes.
Thanks again, Jasmine.
