One of the shots taken for the 2008 Canon Photo Competition, based on the subject of bubbles. 12/10/2008.
I've felt poorly all day :( so I'm pleased I was even able to take a photo. Something simple; bubbles of Dettol Anti-Bacterial Cleaner (close at hand "just in case") in a green plastic container lit by two green-gelled strobes behind and at either side of the subject (@ 1/16 power) and taken with my 2nd favourite lens, the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 macro USM.

The Messerschmitt KR200, or Kabinenroller (Cabin Scooter), was a three-wheeled bubble car designed by the aircraft engineer Fritz Fend and produced in the factory of the German aircraft manufacturer Messerschmitt from 1955 to 1964
I have been playing with bubbles trying to capture the wierd shapes and colours. These are the best efforts to date.
Canon 50D with EFS 60mm macro lens. ISO 400, f10.
Canon 580 at 1/2 power from above right, wired, and 430 from low left at 1/16 th with optical sensor, both through light tent.
Bubbles made with mixture of water, washing up liquid with black food dye.
Will have another go in the near future.
Bubble Nebula in natural colors composed from narrowband data.
Channels are balanced so, that image match to visible spectrum,
H-a + 24%S-II=Red, O-III=Green and O-III + 15%H-alpha=Blue.
The original image has a resolution of 8000x6000 pixels!

Stacked and calibrated in CCDStack. Deconvolution with a CCDSharp, 30 iterations.
Levels, curves and color combine in PS CS3.
