You're going to see a lot of cows photos like this, until i work out how to effectively remove the ear-tag in Photoshop lol
Bubba was checking the woodpile to ensure it was sufficient to keep him warm for the rest of the winter.
His name went from Benihana to Beni to Benny to Ben. But for some reason I'm now calling him Bubba. It seems to be my universal pet name for all the dogs I care for. I don't know why. It has a nice ring to it when projected at a dog... any dog. =)
Oh I still call him Ben too... or BENJAMIN! when he's being naughty. LOL
I rescued him over 2 years ago. He gives me great joy on a daily basis. It's a riot to watch him play with Faith (boxer). I'm not sure if you can tell but that white blob in the background in Tank fast asleep.

Bad Bubba hates being called yellow! He can't help it if he has an allergy to bees. He always flinches when anything flying comes near. It's embarrassing when it turns out to be a June bug and not a bumble bee.

Bubba wanted me to read him a Christmas story. He was asleep before I finished the first chapter and he didn't much care for the cute kitten on the cover either.

Nah, you ain't gotta be born out in the sticks / With an F-150 and a 30-06
Or have a Bubba in the family tree / To get on down with me
Well yeah Bubba all you need is an open mind / If it fires you up you gotta let it shine
When it feels so right that it can't be wrong / Come on, come on, come on you ain't alone, you ain't alone
We all got a hillbilly bone down deep inside
No matter where you from you just can't hide
And when the band starts banging and the fiddle saws
You can't help but hollering, yee haw!
When you see them pretty little country queens
Man you gotta admit that's in them jeans
Ain't nothing wrong, just getting on your

I showed Bubba once that he could look out the window to watch for his Daddy coming up the driveway. He does this on his own now, and once in awhile will turn around, look at me and I have to tell him he'll be home soon and then he turns around and continues to watch.
The original part of him looking out I'll post below, but I wanted to try this and I'm not sure it came out the way I really wanted it to lol.
Have a great weekend everyone if I don't see you :-)
Bubba missed the last train and stayed in Cranberrycorners forever. The rest is history...
From " Cranberrycorners Chronicles "
My Snowshoe cat, Bubba, at 14.
Bubba had an uphill battle for all of his life. His mother was only 7 months old when he was born, and ignored her 3 kittens. They were taken care of by an older cat who had just lost her litter. Bubba was much smaller than his female litter-mates, and seemed to have difficulty eating and drinking. A couple of weeks after I got him, I learned that he had a large hole in the roof of his mouth. The vet told me recently that cats that are born with this defect generally do not live beyond the age of 4 or 5. Although Bubba endured many trips to the vet in the last two years of his life, he did beat the odds, living to the age of 17 yrs 3 mos.!
Shooting info: handheld with remote shutter release, manual focus, JPEG* with superfine compression; I shot this at ISO 3200 which resulted in lower resolution - 1.9 MP
Processing: saturation increased slightly in iPhoto*; no cropping
*I no longer shoot JPEGs or use iPhoto. This is one of the last shots from my "pre-RAW, pre-Aperture 3" days.
