I took advantage of the glorious Winter sunshine this morning to make a quick visit to Sneydes Rd. Glad I did as there was a lot of birds about.
Not sure what it was that this White-faced Heron plucked from the grass for a snack. It was so intent on hunting that it allowed me to get quite close.
Back after picking up the kids from school to catch up.
This Green heron scored a small fish for brunch at the SPI Birding Center. The first day we visited, it seemed there were green herons everywhere. I don't know if it was the result of recent rains or what but it was remarkable..
Went for a brunch on day 3 to an amazing place, Alice's. Great food, service, and love their menu board.

Potato bread bought in but the egg from our hens and the kale from the garden.

08.04.07 : Apple Pancakes : $12 : Wow...this did not disappoint! The seasoned slices of fresh apples were sandwiched between a batter that was based on a sorta buckwheat flour...then generously doused with confectioner's sugar and paired with a side of Buck hill farm pure maple syrup. Heaven!!!

Sunday brunch at the historic Kaufman Tavern is a treat. The old Kaufman Hotel in Zelienople was tragically gutted by fire several years ago. It was fully restored and now houses a popular tavern and restaurant on the main floor with professional offices on the upper floors.
