('The Joker' and 'Batgirl' by DC Collectibles / DC Icons)

In all incarnations of the Caped Crusader, from comic books to TV and film, Bruce Wayne has a great car.

This is one of the best, the Tumbler.

These days, the villains he fights have less colorful names but they are still driven by greed and the quest for power.

They have names like, the Developer and the Gentrifier, villains the like of which our hero has never seen before.

They don’t use their fists. They don’t have guns or poison gas flowers on their lapels. They have lawyers and bulldozers.

Stressed citizens have sent out the old signal in hope their hero can once more rise up against evil.

This is a forced perspective photograph of a 1/24 scale model car, trees and figures in front of a real background.

The Tumbler was made by Jada.

So I made some more Brickheadz inspired by the incredible Nolan Trilogy! These two in particular was a bit of a homage to two of my most popular BHz once featured on TheBrothersBrick!

Tony Stark has his "Hall of Armor" to store his Iron Man armor... now Bruce Wayne also has his "Hall of suits" to store his Batman costumes.

In one corner of his Batcave, Batman has a huge dressing room with his entire collection of suits...

The "Hall of suits" includes 2 mobile robotic arms that can retrieve suits in height, a Batconsole and a large bat logo. (and Pretzels too ^^)

For this "dressing room", I made a small selection of 60 suits from different eras (Yes I know, there are more batman suits).

But why 60 suits ? The "Hall of suits" is under a showcase and the size is limited, I only got 60.

Why a showcase ? It was out of the question to leave Batman suits unprotected at exhibitions.

Extra : The showcase is lit with a blue light. :)

I didn't really set out to build this. It just sort of happened after I finished my batmobile design project. I ended up deciding I wanted a 'realistic' batcave, in the sense of trying to build something that would fit in a reasonably-sized cavern rather than giving the impression Wayne Manor is built atop gothic swiss-cheese. I kept to the bare essentials (computer, car-storage, equipment), but tried to lean into the stylisation a bit and give the impression that this is all built into the manor's foundations. I'm quite pleased with how it came out.

Inspired by the new movie.

Painted last year.

Batman lead Poison Ivy to his green partner where Merlyn was shouting and arguing with him.

"Confound it all! The League of Assassins will claim their prize in the name of The Demon's Head and you will all fall victims of it's cleansing presence!"

Oliver chuckled, "I shot you with the largest amount of Vitamin A I have ever seen! ...And yet you're still feeling mighty confident. I have the tiniest hunch that this ain't gonna happen...."

Merlyn continued to babble but Ollie tuned him out. Even Poison Ivy was sick of him, "Oh hush now! I've never met such a sore loser!"

Green Arrow chuckled again, "By the way Bat's, how'd you stop Ivy?”

Batman's eyes narrowed. He returned his GCPD Comms. device to his belt. He looked right at Oliver with a cold stare...

Fig formulas for new characters will come later, too tired from traveling to type it all out right now. Credit to Numbuh1Nerd for a lot of the parts on Bluebird. Would you guys prefer a labeled or unlabeled version of this photo?

Or should that be 'Take me to the bat cave'.

Yes, this is a real building located in London - 7 More London Riverside, part of the 'More London' development on the South Bank of the River Thames opposite City Hall and Tower Bridge. The building is a massive marvel of black reflective glass and architectural lines & curves. This was taken near the main entrance.

My favourite bit of this photo is the single yellow lamp shade in one of the offices.

All right don't freak out! There's not a buncha spoilers or anything! ...Geez

Holey Bat-Tastic Bat-Movie, Batman! Wow where to begin?!

Man, when WB first announced this movie, my only thought was that this was going to be some kind of Lego Movie prequel sequel sidequel kinda jazz, but boooy oh boy was this a real treat!

It's basically it's own independent Warner Brothers DC Comics/Batman film that rips on nearly all of their old DC/Batman properties and it's great! :)

Holy crap, if you have been paying attention to anything DC in the last 30some years you're gonna find it hilarious! Besides all the really great nods to past franchises, this movie still managed to be it's own thing! While still falling under the same Batman-esc tropes of the last few decades, it didn't really bother me! Plus, there are some jokes that are so On-The-Nose that they literally shoehorn in clips and images from past properties (and some other things too that I didn't expect! :P )

But I find that under all the silliness of this movie there was a really good subliminal intelligence behind these 'meta tropes' and self-awareness within the creative team, and that's something to really give them props for!

Honestly, in it's prime, it's a pretty cliche Batman movie and I LOVED IT!

Visually the movie was stunningly built and colored and "lit" (despite it all being computer generated ya know). I was blown away with the scale of some of the builds in the movie! I just want to study the thing frame by frame for building inspiration! Like at one point we go to the Fortress of Solitude and it looks fantastic! (and the Classic Superman movie jokes were some of my favorite parts in the film!)

But speaking of builds, the amount of different (legit) Bat-Vehicles that were featured, oh my gosh! Additionally the builds for the city-scape, Arkham, The Gala, Wayne Manor, etc... like, these renders where beautiful and I just want to build all of them in real life!

Speaking of which, some of my favorite things about The Lego Movie was the mere amount of stuff going on in the foreground! I'm sure I'll re-watch this over and over again to catch everything that happens during the opening fight scene (which is amazing btw)!

And if the topic of visual spectacle, there was a bit at one point where Alfred is speaking in a montage about Batman's past “phases” and so many different iterations of Bat History are shown in fantastic Lego-ified illustrations! Everything from classic Brave and The Bold cover art, to some Bruce Timm BTAS stuff, even all the way back to referencing DC No. 27, and the old Lewis Wilson Serials and it just makes me so glad that the film team did their homework!

Aaaaaaaahhhh!

(^^thats me still screaming from excitement)

All in all I felt like this had a great respect for some of the past moments in Bat's history while still getting the chance to poke fun at themselves. Makes me wonder though, if DC knew that this was what they signed up for.... I'm amazed they allowed so many stabs at their own license! (Also makes me wonder how closely involved DC was during the production to let LEGO just roast them in their own court. Did you guys catch all those burns on DoJ and SS?!) :P

Anyway, I really hope you guys enjoyed this as much as I did, because everything from the voice acting cast, to the soundtrack, the Foley work, the animation, plus all the shit I said up there^^

This movie was great!

My take om the custom ‘The Batman’ figure. All original parts. Created with BrickDaan

That’s right, you guessed it! New Year New Brickheadz! Starting with some Batman BHz, naturally. And what better versions to build than a few BTAS designs!

Here is a quick edit I threw together of what Lego’s version of the new Batman suit could look like. Let me know what you think!

I have built (a part of) Wayne Manor. I wanted to show how the rich Bruce Wayne lives over the well known bat cave. Round about 150.000 parts were used for this moc, mainly small bricks and plates - and over 10.000 jumper plates 1x2 and 2x2 in almost all colours.

More minfigures than usually were at Wayne Manor. There was an costume party, but the Joker invited himself and Bruce Wayne could not become the Dark Knight. So the rest of the bat family hat to solve the problem ...

Young Bruce Wayne see's his parents murdered in front of him..by the exact type of person they were trying to help through all their charity work..this is the moment that changed Bruce's whole life...Bruce vows to himself... he will get revenge.

“I'm not sure what you are or where you come from. But my instincts tell me you're to be trusted. Make no mistake, I have a $70,000 sliver of a radioactive meteor to stop the one from Metropolis. ...All I need for you is a penny for a book of matches.”

To celebrate Detective Comics No.1000 today, here's another one in (I guess a series now) of Darwyn Cooke inspired builds. This shot pulled from my personal favorite bit from The New Frontier, where in the book, Batman is snooping and meets J'onn J'onzz for the first time.

Honestly if you haven't read The New Frontier, what's the matter with you!?

I feel like I'm the last person in the world to get this Bat-figure!

It’s been a long time coming for The 1939 Batman v2; Christo unveiled the first version of this minifigure as far back as 2015, only a few months after the release of the Lego Batman 3 video game. I missed out on his initial run of listings because despite Christo's wonderful sale structure of just emailing him and hope you get one, I missed out due to limited production. Then throughout the next six months or so, I tried to acquire him though 'second secondary markets' and missing out yet again on many occasions by other resellers across the net. Then after about a year I gave up! I was never gonna get this fig!

Then Christo pulls one over on everybody and released a second version with a slightly different belt and hands (because if was the same it would ruin the numbering system he set in place with that first version yadda yadda yadda) So anyway, a bit miffed and cranky about it, I reluctantly ordered from him, this time claiming this illusive Batman figure in March of 2017!

Then I waited.

...and waited...

...and proceeded to wait nearly TWO YEARS for it to be produced and shipped out!

But FINALLY! I have finally acquired a classic Golden Age Batsuit! … and it only took forever to get it! :P

He's No. 77 of 130, and the placard in his little box has a date of JUNE 2016 OH MY GOSH WHY DID IT TAKE THIS LONG?!

*deep breath*

...So with that said!

When he arrived on my doorstep around November, and frankly, I wasn't in a huge rush to photograph him (big surprise)

So that's my story.

It was a long and frustrating one :P
