This is the city of the World, worth knowing, the adrenaline that provacates me is immense ...

It has everything, Nature, Theaters, rivers, sea and especially people from all over the world ...

Going through it is something so personal and deep that it cannot be described and its history is rich.

Brooklin United Church has served the Brooklin community since 1840. This lovely historic building was constructed by the Wesleyan Methodists in 1867. The church has gone through a number of denominational changes: Methodist Episcopal, Wesleyan Methodist, Presbyterian; and finally in 1926, all three congregations joined to become a congregation of United Church of Canada.

I do not know if small planes are allowed to fly round Manhattan since 911, but on Saturday 26 Nov 1983 it was no problem. Leica M3 with Kodak 100 ASA B&W film. I am happy with the bridge's double shadow on the water.

This was taken in very strong late afternoon sun. I employed a lot of loose, quick dodging and burning, as if I were working in the darkroom. I have posted another nearly identical composition on the Brooklin Camera Club site, taken on a different day at mid-morning under overcast skies, which required nearly the opposite touches in post-processing.

The Brooklyn Bridge is a hybrid cable-stayed/suspension bridge in New York City, spanning the East River between the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn. Opened on May 24, 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge was the first fixed crossing of the East River. It was also the longest suspension bridge in the world at the time of its opening, with a main span of 1,595.5 feet (486.3 m) and a deck 127 ft (38.7 m) above mean high water. The span was originally called the New York and Brooklyn Bridge or the East River Bridge but was officially renamed the Brooklyn Bridge in 1915.

Proposals for a bridge connecting Manhattan and Brooklyn were first made in the early 19th century, which eventually led to the construction of the current span, designed by John A. Roebling. The project's chief engineer, his son Washington Roebling, contributed further design work, assisted by the latter's wife, Emily Warren Roebling. Construction started in 1870 and was overseen by the New York Bridge Company, which in turn was controlled by the Tammany Hall political machine. Numerous controversies and the novelty of the design prolonged the project over thirteen years. After opening, the Brooklyn Bridge underwent several reconfigurations, having carried horse-drawn vehicles and elevated railway lines until 1950. To alleviate increasing traffic flows, additional bridges and tunnels were built across the East River. Following gradual deterioration, the Brooklyn Bridge was renovated several times, including in the 1950s, 1980s, and 2010s.

The Brooklyn Bridge is the southernmost of the four toll-free vehicular bridges connecting Manhattan Island and Long Island, with the Manhattan Bridge, the Williamsburg Bridge, and the Queensboro Bridge to the north. Only passenger vehicles and pedestrian and bicycle traffic are permitted. A major tourist attraction since its opening, the Brooklyn Bridge has become an icon of New York City. Over the years, the bridge has been used as the location of various stunts and performances, as well as several crimes and attacks. The Brooklyn Bridge is designated a National Historic Landmark, a New York City landmark, and a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark.

Every now and then you have to say the hell with reality and process something that just looks spiffy (at least to myself).

I think my favorite part of this shot is the calmness and reflective nature of the water. I actually have another pic from around here that has unbelievable water, looks like molten silver but I can't figure out how to process the rest of the shot so that one will have to wait.

Random fact, there is an old lighthouse on the tiny island on the right side of the pic (barely a black speck) that is now privately owned. What an unbelievable view they've got, Acadia to the East, Blue Hill to the North, This spot to the West and open ocean to the South...

Vignette is from polarizer that I forgot to take off, doesn't bother me too much so I left it.

A few days ago, when I shared a picture of Antelope Canyon, I lazily called the picture "My Antelope".

It was quite convinient because I just couldn't think of anything else.

Pretty much like today with this share enlighting the beauty of the Brooklin Bridge.

But we can turn that into a collective brainstorming.

So, if anyone comes up with a better idea for a name, I'll gladly take that proposal in consideration.
