Healing does not mean the damage never existed. It means the damage no longer controls our lives.

Tilburg, Acaciastraat.

On a recent drive to Christchurch, I saw these beautiful clouds just past Lake Dunstan and had to pull over a few times to get various photos of them.

Spotted in Blackrock Park today and given a bit of Moonlight treatment or "nuite americaine" effect - thanks Alex for that name!

Gulls nest in large, densely packed, noisy colonies. They lay two or three speckled eggs in nests composed of vegetation. The young are precocial, born with dark mottled down and mobile upon hatching. Gulls are resourceful, inquisitive, and intelligent, the larger species, in particular, demonstrating complex methods of communication and a highly developed social structure. For example, many gull colonies display mobbing behavior, attacking and harassing predators and other intruders.

Mum very carefully ushered her brood down the river constantly going back to make sure those that loitered got back to the group. Every so often a couple of chicks would get on her back and have a short ride. .

Zwolle Herman Brood

Hermanus "Herman" Brood (Dutch pronunciation: [ɦɛrˈmaːnɵs ˈɦɛrmɑn ˈbroːt]; 5 November 1946 – 11 July 2001) was a Dutch musician and painter. As a musician he achieved artistic and commercial success in the 1970s and 1980s, and was called "the greatest and only Dutch rock 'n' roll star". Later in life he started a successful career as a painter.

Known for his hedonistic lifestyle of "sex, drugs and rock 'n roll," Brood was an enfant terrible and a cultural figure whose suicide, apparently caused by a failure to kick his drug and alcohol habit, only strengthened his controversial status. His suicide, according to a poll organized to celebrate fifty years of Dutch popular music, was the most significant event in its history.

Our last brood of Eastern Bluebirds. Fledged four, but only three are following Daddy to the feeder now. About two-months old. Our beautiful world, pass it on.

‘Ook dit feestje gaat voorbij’ means such as ‘This party is also passing by’. Herman Brood (1946-2001) was a Dutch painter and singer/musician.

Bad weather had beset our journey from Perthshire up to the West Highlands, but we got a patch of sunshine as we were leaving Glen Coe, so I jumped out of the car and grabbed this shot.

Yesterday I joined Linda Cronin and Mickeydud on a trip to Bewl Water, a reservoir in Kent. Luckily this weather stayed in the distance.

Visited Spurn Point but it was too windy, too blue, by the time we got back to the car something else was happening.

A bit hit and miss weatherwise today near Petersfield, Hampshire...I always prefer some wonderful clouds to a featureless blue sky though!

The holiday in Kaitaia in the The Far North of NZ was almost over; this was the last evening - and on this particular evening, I'd been trying to capture a fast-setting sunset.

I wasn't successful...!

But when I turned around, this scene was right there, silent and brooding, the full moon peered down between the branches of the old Elm tree...

Thanks for visiting my Site Folks, and thanks especially for taking the time and trouble to leave a Comment; it's always nice to hear from you...!

So sad to report that one of the cygnets was lost this morning in a Mink attack. Didn't stand a chance as they are stuck on the moat unable to escape. We didn't witness it but had a phone call from a very distressed friend who had seen it happen. I only wish that Dunham had made the ramp less steep and a little wider to allow the youngsters to get out of the moat.

Brood X, the Great Eastern Brood of the periodical cicada has arrived in full force here in Maryland. While these will undoubtedly be photographed by thousands, I'm still excited to capture them for myself.
