Work has begun on the brooder we are making for the 60 chicks set to arrive next weekend. We started by removing plywood from a workroom. A trip to the farm store was needed for chicken wire.

Broods (Georgia and Caleb Nott) performing live at Fingerprints Music in Long Beach, Los Angeles, California, on Thursday June 30th, 2016. Broods performed a short acoustic set then signed posters/etc. for fans.
Where brooding darkness

Brood -to think alone.
No sure what I think about this one... a lot of editing. And I think it has more of a "fireflies" feel to it, rather than "thinking alone." Meh. Oh well.
So...I got four into this project and fell majorly behind. Shocker. Hopefully will pick it up better. Trying to savor the last moments of summer!

We had more snow yesterday - but the wettish sort - not nice, light and fluffy. We had a quick zap out in it - more because it might be another 20 years until we get such a white winter again.

This brood of Shoveler ducklings appeared on the main lake yesterday.
This is the second year running that this species has bred at London Wetland Centre. Last year there was a total of 3 broods on the reserve.
This family seems to have adopted a Tufted duckling which is tagging along with them!
