On Saturday, February 11, a large immigrant-led coalition held a rally at Washington Square Park at 2pm to call out mayor Bill De Blasio and City Council members for an end to the city’s collaboration with ICE, a stop to the criminalization of all immigrants documented or undocumented, people with criminal convictions, workers, gender non-conforming folks, the poor, people with disabilities, Muslims, women, and all people of color and permanently abolishing the Broken Windows policing.

Minneapolis -- I think this building was in the Mill District and I'm pretty sure it was eventually demolished (does anyone know this building or if it is still standing?)

History of the Buckner Building: This huge building still dominates the small town of Whittier, Alaska. Construction of this building began in 1948 and completed in 1953 to hold 1,000 apartments, a hospital, bowling alley, theater, gym, swimming pool and various shops for Army bachelors; this is why it is known as the "city under one roof." It has not been in use since 1960 and it was damaged beyond repair in the 1964 Alaska earthquake but still stands abandon, decaying fromthe salty air, and ghostly in Whittier, Alaska.

The end of another era. The old sugar cane farm house ready for demolition.
