Put the power down one day and it just bent and snapped off, half the break is dirty showing it was cracked for some time prior to failure. This is the second one of these that have snapped like this on me. This one had not long been on a mountain bike having come from a mid 80's Halfords BMX. The other one came with the bike which was a 1991ish Townsend yakk smakka which i got for something like £50 when my aunty bought a 21inch ITT crt tv back in the day when tv's were expensive at something like £500.
I don't know what happened to my MBP battery but it seems that a weird chemical reaction made my battery dissamble.
This jar of apricot jam broke during shipping. The jam is so thick that the broken glass stayed stuck to the jam, and nothing leaked into the box.

This shot was originally intended as a joke - a silly version of all those jetty shots you see of the Lake District - but in the end I like it in its own right.
These poles are meant to be supporting the pipe which is discarded on the right and the "water" was pouring out of the broken pipe just behind where I was standing. Normally for a shot like this I'd probably sit or lie down but I decided against it this time ;)
The polariser likes wet sand.
I set out home from the Pub last night, following the same routine I always do: wrap the chain around the stem and lock the lock on so it dangles to the side of the bike. As I took off, I made a wide s-swerve down the street like I like to do and noticed the lock had shifted to behind the headset, preventing the handlebars from turning properly. “I should fix that at the next intersection” I think to myself. However, the next intersection has a taxi cab entering it from the right hand side and I instictively attempt to turn to avoid it. Since my bars can’t turn, I tried to force it a bit and the lock popped loose and the front wheel spun around perpendicular to the proper travel of the bicycle, throwing me over the bars where I landed in the middle of the intersection square on my left shoulder; breaking my collarbone, dislocating my shoulder, tearing a muscle in my leg and generally making a spectical of myself.
That's what I got when I came back to my car in La Ronde's parking this afternoon after a walk in the islands.
Broken-banded Leafroller (Choristoneura fractivittana), Hodges#3632.
After I took this photo, I saw a photo of a similar moth by Anita363, and I am pretty sure they are the same species.
Fridas Broken WIP with broken dish from Mexico, stained glass, alphabet beads, seed beads, and millefiori on glass. I will pour resin on this to seal the recycled piece for the heart-broken client who broke the dish.

The snowmobile club's groomer stuck in the bush, the result of a broken fan belt.
New Holland TS-110, Ebert Welding Sur Trac with an Ebert drag. Not a criticism of Ebert at all. In fact, 'Big Blue' is the workhorse of our club, and it's outperformed any other groomer we've tried - this is just a broken fan belt.
First day with the new point and shoot - a Panasonic TS3. The only reason I posted this is to check to see if the camera's on-board GPS would automatically geotag the picture.
It didn't work.
Maybe I should read the manual.
There is grey in your hair.
Young men no longer suddenly catch their breath
When you are passing;
But maybe some old gaffer mutters a blessing
Because it was your prayer
Recovered him upon the bed of death.
For your sole sake - that all heart's ache have known,
And given to others all heart's ache,
From meagre girlhood's putting on
Burdensome beauty - for your sole sake
Heaven has put away the stroke of her doom,
So great her portion in that peace you make
By merely walking in a room.
Your beauty can but leave among us
Vague memories, nothing but memories.
A young man when the old men are done talking
Will say to an old man, "Tell me of that lady
The poet stubborn with his passion sang us
When age might well have chilled his blood.'
Vague memories, nothing but memories,
But in the grave all, all, shall be renewed.
The certainty that I shall see that lady
Leaning or standing or walking
In the first loveliness of womanhood,
And with the fervour of my youthful eyes,
Has set me muttering like a fool.
You are more beautiful than any one,
And yet your body had a flaw:
Your small hands were not beautiful,
And I am afraid that you will run
And paddle to the wrist
In that mysterious, always brimming lake
Where those What have obeyed the holy law
paddle and are perfect. Leave unchanged
The hands that I have kissed,
For old sake's sake.
The last stroke of midnight dies.
All day in the one chair
From dream to dream and rhyme to rhyme I have
ranged
In rambling talk with an image of air:
Vague memories, nothing but memories.
