On broken wings I'm falling

And it won't be long

The skin on me is burning

By the fires of the sun

On skinned knees

I'm bleeding

And it won't be long

I've got to find that meaning

I'll search for so long

Cry ourselves to sleep

We will sleep alone forever

Will you lay me down

In the same place with all I love

Mend the broken homes

Care for them they are our brothers

Save the fading light in our souls

In my opinion seeing is to know

What you give

Will always carry you

And who's to say

We won't survive it too.....

Flickr is broken.

Flickr sucks right now.

It's a Global issue.

See the pages and pages of issues, comments, etc here: www.flickr.com/help/forum/en-us/

**I finally went to the Help forum 2 days ago and started my own thread, as I saw no one in the blythe community asking what was wrong with Flickr. It's NOT just IE users, it's everywhere, but mostly IE users. Cannot add tags, Cannot add to Group, Cannot even go and look at other people's photos, Cannot "grab" the link for your photo...and the list continues. At this point, I don't think Flickr has a solution...you can go read all the replies and pages of frustration for yourself. Me personally....I have had to go to a completely different ISP that I don't like and not familiar with to even get any Flickr.

i really need to learn how to control my feeling.

and a new pair of glasses as well :((

Here are the glass beads again from my broken necklace incident yesterday (www.flickr.com/photos/bjornert/8514194359/), this time on some boardwalk planks.

Some lady came up to me while I was taking this to ask me "if I was ok"... Apparently its not normal to lie on your stomach, by yourself, in the middle of the day, on a public walkway -- even if you are just trying to get a really low perspective on a photo. Who knew!

I guess sometimes you just have to let people think you're weird in order to get the shot you want. Oh well :)

Just when I was about to start a 6 hour long flight, the Kindle's screen got messed up. It worked fine all other previous days, but decided to break on the day of my return flight. I had no backup physical books, so I wasted a trip day without reading.

A cute little box crafted by my granddaughter but which somehow jumped off my deck. I found it on the grass downstairs with the missing piece nowhere to be found. A quick text message to my daughter with this photo confirmed it was our family heirloom.

Added DoF with Aviary which stripped my EXIF info. I hate when that happens. Taken on August 29, 2013. EXIF below.

A Delta faucet for the bath tub disassembled.

The door to our dryer fell off and broke for no clear reason. The great thing is that it still works as long as you push the door back in.

ODC - BROKEN - June 6 - 12, 2022 - My daughter sent me this bowl about 10 yrs ago and it arrived broke in half, my sweet hubby glued it back together for me. It was handmade and painted!

Setup used for this series of shots, excuse the mess which built up over a couple of days of playing with this.

The chunk of broken glass is sat on a sheet of glass from a 12" x 10" (300mm x 250mm) picture frame and has the underside spray painted black to create a black mirror.

This in turn is sat on an old glass shelf (material not important) which is used to raise everything above the tables surface. This is to enable the snooted light to be placed underneath.

There are 3 x 20W CFL lamps in use for these shots. The first is the snooted light under the shelf, which has a Pringles tube fitted to it and this creates the circle of light on the background.

The other 2 lights are placed to the sides, behind screens of tracing paper to illuminate the subject tself and care is taked to avoid light from these leaking onto the background, within the frame of the shot anyway. You will have noticed that the screen on the left is partly blacked out with a piece of card, this is to give a narower light to bring out the texture in the glass, rather than an even illumination.

Due to the slow shutter speeds, mounting the camera on a tripod is essential for this type of shot.

Hopefully, some info which will prove useful amongst this lot.

I guess putting the various shots together in the comments below will show the differences well to make comparisons. Worth a try anyway :)

The Roll of Honour fell from its mounting, and the frame was broken. There's a metaphor in there somewhere, I fancy ...
