You are damaged and broken and unhinged but so are shooting stars and comets. Life is a painting, and you are the artist...your attitude is like a box of crayons that color your world. The whole point is to live life and be - to use all the colors in the crayon box
For Macro Monday theme "Negative space" (April 14th 2014)
A snail shell found in the garden - just 1 inch across. I use negative space a lot, though I don't like to over-think it. One rough guide I use is to imagine the subject (including the reflection in this shot) has been cut out of the picture. Would the shapes left behind be interesting? For this exercise I had to try and hide the signature too, as it takes away from the negative space ;o)
Shot with the Sony NEX-6 using the E30mm F3.5 macro lens

Broken Chair
It is a monumental wooden sculpture made by the Swiss artist Daniel Berset and made by the carpenter Louis Genève. It represents a giant chair with a broken leg. In a square in Lausanne.
I’m on vacation and I’ve seen hearts in clouds and cactuses but that’s not exactly macro. So when I went on my last hike on Friday I tried to keep my eye out for a heart shaped stone since there were so many rocks and stones along the trail. Towards the end I found two. I liked this one and thought of it as a broken heart.

About the project:
THE ART OF REFLECTION is a project whose name is derived from the book with the very same title by Marsha Meskimmon. I wish to experiment with all kind of surfaces to reflect my selves. A journey into surreal worlds of the soul.

Another image that has been lingering on my computer. Here is one of my favourite models Joy Draiki being her beautiful self. My biggest struggle with models is finding a good way to pose them the way I envision them. I often need just that weird pose that works in my mind, but is physically impossible at times. Thats why I love working with Joy, she can pose like a pro and gives me so much more. Always a treat to work on images with her.

A broken vase at the 遠野郷土人形民芸村 Tono Traditional Doll Folk Craft Village - which appears to consist of just one building! I heard that the house was moved to the Tono Folklore Village but the city ran out of money and couldn't pay for it. This family stepped in and bought it for their own shop. Now there is just one woman working there making dolls in the traditional manner but can't find anyone to pass her craft on to. After she's gone there will be no one left in Tono able to do that work.
Insanity - a pumpkin mask - designed and folded by me, based on the technique by Russel Sutherland, learned by Beata Kupczak
Paper: approx. 25x12.5cm of a rather thick paper, treated with mc before folding. In its wet state, the material didnt ressemble paper anymore, but was more of a thickish tissue. This is also the reason why it crumpled a lot in the upper part, but i think it matches the crazy look including the two teeth and the broken nose :D
the finished model in contrary is really hard and stable. sadly i dont have a lot of this unknown type of paper.

I have been guilty of not frequenting your streams for that I apologize! I have just been held up a bit and not able to spend the time I would like on flickr..but I promise I will be regular starting tomorrow :)
I have been living in Chennai for as long as I have been alive...yet I have never once made it to this place..This is called the Broken Bridge which is situated north of the Besant Nagar beach...
The bridge was built to facilitate the movement of fishermen from Santhome beach to Elliot's beach over the mouth of the Adyar river. The bridge spans across the Adyar estuary bordering the backend of the Theosophical Society. The bridge partly collapsed after due to strong currents of the river during a particular monsoon, and has never been repaired.
The Broken Bridge has become a popular spot to view the sunset and has been attracting drinkers. The area is generally considered unsafe after dark due to its proximity to fishing hamlets and lack of road access...
On our way back, we also happened to stumble upon the turtle hatchery where they hatch the Olive Ridley Turtles which are currently considered endangered...It was a total coincidence that we were in the exact spot when that happened...The baby turtles were being egged on to make it to the ocean...it was a totally new experience to say the least...
This is SOOC..EXIF - 45mm@f8/15secs ISO 350. I had used my ND to smoothen out the ripples in the foreground...
Thanks for viewing and have a nice day!
Shortly after pulling myself away from the first scenic stop, Big Badlands Overlook, I continued on the Badlands Loop Road and soon encountered this wonderful broken landscape. This one is for Totally Texture Tuesday.
Broken building in the potline area of an abandoned aluminum smelter. This was taken on a day that we had a lot of smoke from the west coast wildfires.

I bought this Sigma Art 30mm f2.8 E Mount lens on ebay for £19 as a customer return, thinking I may be able to use it in manual mode.
However it does not manually focus, nor can you change the aperture or speed.
The only way to focus is to physically move in and out from the subject. Which needs to be pretty close too.
These images are all straight out of the camera, no cropping or colour adjustments.
