You are damaged and broken and unhinged but so are shooting stars and comets. Life is a painting, and you are the artist...your attitude is like a box of crayons that color your world. The whole point is to live life and be - to use all the colors in the crayon box
The salty breeze lifts the sand into the air, displacing it's location over and over again. Never static; always shifting. The dunes come and go with time; a natural formation for which we attempt to control. Set the boundaries of us and them with sticks and steel; only to have them rot and rust. Our intentions, while altruistic, are often thwarted from all's desires to move freely.
This was totally worth crouching down in the middle of a pavement and no doubt getting plenty of funny looks :)

I’m on vacation and I’ve seen hearts in clouds and cactuses but that’s not exactly macro. So when I went on my last hike on Friday I tried to keep my eye out for a heart shaped stone since there were so many rocks and stones along the trail. Towards the end I found two. I liked this one and thought of it as a broken heart.

About the project:
THE ART OF REFLECTION is a project whose name is derived from the book with the very same title by Marsha Meskimmon. I wish to experiment with all kind of surfaces to reflect my selves. A journey into surreal worlds of the soul.

Another image that has been lingering on my computer. Here is one of my favourite models Joy Draiki being her beautiful self. My biggest struggle with models is finding a good way to pose them the way I envision them. I often need just that weird pose that works in my mind, but is physically impossible at times. Thats why I love working with Joy, she can pose like a pro and gives me so much more. Always a treat to work on images with her.

It would probably be more than 20 years since I photographed the Broken Hill to Port Pirie ore train, so no wonder the sun refused to come out in protest.
Pacific National loco NR6 round the curves at Huddlestone, South Australia, on 1 December 2016, with train 5455 which carries lead and zinc ores from Broken Hill to the smelter at Port Pirie.
It is a shadow of its former self these days with the 6000 tonne trains of the past long gone, and on this occasion with only 21 loaded ore wagons in tow.

A broken vase at the 遠野郷土人形民芸村 Tono Traditional Doll Folk Craft Village - which appears to consist of just one building! I heard that the house was moved to the Tono Folklore Village but the city ran out of money and couldn't pay for it. This family stepped in and bought it for their own shop. Now there is just one woman working there making dolls in the traditional manner but can't find anyone to pass her craft on to. After she's gone there will be no one left in Tono able to do that work.
