This is the pair of KPFK antennas installed in 2001-2. On top is a one-bay Shively 6814 in a radome. That was the auxiliary antenna at the time, and still when this photo was shot. The four-bay main antenna below is a Jampro with radomes.
This replaced a 14-bay antenna. Both put out 112,000 watts ERP, highest on the mountain and by some measures (combining height above average terrain and ERP) the largest FM station in the U.S. The story of the install is told here.
By my next visit in 2015, the Jampro had moved down the tower to become the aux, a new Shively 5-bay 6814 had been installed, and the ERP was 110,000 watts.

CBC RADIO BROADCASTING STUDIO
Public radio reached millions, broadcasting government instructions during times of crisis. It would have been a lifeline during a nuclear war.
Imagine the worst-nuclear explosions have destroyed cities across the country. Turn on the radio, and hear the familiar, reassuring voice of CBC broadcasters bringing you up-to-date information about the situation.
The CBC is responsible for control of the Emergency Broadcasting System. Control of national emergency messages during a nuclear war would have come from this studio, and connected to all affiliated CBC stations via regional "black box" devices.
Although the government was prepared, this emergency CBC system never had to be tested in the event of a real nuclear attack.

The headline act to Museums at Night - Public Service Broadcasting
Public Service Broadcasting is a London-based pseudonymous musical duo consisting of J. Willgoose, Esq. on guitar, banjo, other stringed instruments, samplings and electronic instruments; and Wrigglesworth on drums, piano and electronic instruments.
Granted unique access to propaganda films from WWII-era Britain by the BFI, the band perform in front of breathtaking visuals to a soundtrack of atmospheric synths, pounding drums, Krautrock guitars and poignant piano - beaming the past back at us through vintage TV sets and state of the art modern video projections.

On top, KIIS/102.7 two-bay directional main and auxiliary antenna, and below that the four-bay KRRL/92.3 main antenna. On the bottom right is a directional UHF TV antenna. As of 2020, the TV is gone but the FMs are still in use.

Broadcasting Company NPS/VARA Hilversum - Royal Haskoning Architects
After the establishment of the channel classification for the Dutch public broadcasting in 1995, NPS and VARA decided to move into a new shared building on the Mediapark in Hilversum. The building provides office space and radio and television recording facilities. Specific design characteristics of the buildings include large voids and wooden shutters on the façade. Both provide a high daylight infiltration deep into the building, whilst blocking direct sunlight. Despite the depth of the building, the whole floor is useful and comfortable office space. The continuously changing working patterns and broadcasting requirements are facilitated by the combination of a raised floor and a suspended ceiling.
In 2007 the building is still known for it’s sustainability and user satisfaction.
This is the KNBC/4 tower on Mt. Wilson. On top are the analog antenna still in use in 2005, and above that the new antenna for the digital signal on channel 36. As of this writing (in 2024), both have been replaced.
