It was a casual comment, or perhaps it was intentional. Who can ever know what lies deep in the heart? What is a person's true motivation? Sometimes it isn't what you want it to be. Whichever it was, it led me to cross the road. I don't know what I expected to find there. In an old motel on the Mother Road the possibilities are greater than you might think. This is the room. I think I might still be in shock. Every part of me feels numb. My mind is racing . . .

Back at the Mirage Motel 66 again, somewhere out in west Texas on the Mother Road (Route 66)
Now I know.
From a couple of years ago its my go to beach as its not as big or as popular as some nearby but seems miles away at the moment but will make the next time back all the more special
I always love the beautiful reflections on this beach, and this particular day the colours were so amazing. Within an hour those storm clouds gathering would turn the day into a maelstrom of hail and wind. That's why the coast is so special, nothing gets in the way of the sky and the weather. Mr Brightside by The Killers is perfect, as a walk down the beach always is a walk on the bright side.

Maybe it's not a coincidence that I chose to upload this foto today (not knowing about the story) on our wedding anniversary and title it "The Red Thread" although there is a lot more iron to see.

Havinng collected spent ballast, rails and sleepers from the south end of Penistone viaduct and through the station, 66599 has run down from Dodworth to Brightside to run around and head back to Doncaster.

Mr Brightside was abit of an anthem for this weekend away. Couldn't get it out of my head.
I am trying to find my "Mr Brightside" after a weekend where I am questioning how on earth I can call myself a photographer. I have hit the delete button more times than I care to count. Especially disappointing when I am supposed to be in my element photographing seascapes.
The brightside was the wonderful people I shared my time with while away, not least of all my dear friend Andrew and my ever patient Sherpa and enjoying some red wine, pizza, many laughs and very wet pants and socks.
I think this image was the pick of the weekend for me. Maybe.

Hi hi! I hope everyone is good and staying safe. This days you can feel the end of the summer is near haha i don’t want to, i really love summer even if this summer i couldn’t go out, i really love to have time free and can spend it with my friends and family, i’ll really miss that.

Passing within minutes of each other 45690 pulls out of Brightside sidings having taken on water and moments later 50007 and 50049 pass on the 1Z49 05:50 Cardiff Central to Newcastle. GBRF charter. The 50s should have passed about 20 minutes ahead of Leander, but delays around Birmingham and Derby meant the two quite literally ran nose to tail with the 47 at the rear on the steam tour visible at Meadowhall as the 50s rounded the corner at Brightside.
