"Vou deixar a vida me levar

Pra onde ela quiser,

Seguir a direção,

Viver.

Seguindo a direção...

Lá vamos nós!... ... ...

Golden Hands Bridge in the fog

I've lived in the Bay Area for almost 40 years and never took a photo of the Golden Gate Bridge before last night. This was shot in the "Blue Hour" about 35 minutes after sunset.

I couldn't resist the opportunity to get out of the house with a friend last night. We went for a sunset shot but that didn't work out. Glad we stuck around though, I wasn't expecting these super reflections from the lights on the Severn Bridge.

I don't do a lot of night time shooting, but having a City like Newcastle 45 minutes drive away - I really should try it more often.I headed north last night, and whilst it wasn't a night for reflections,I really enjoyed myself.

Gateshead camera club had an end of season meeting on the quayside last night. This is one of my favourite pics from the night. I've added an sfx filter for good effect.

Along the tracks to Barmouth .

Possibly a view that could be under threat as the Barmouth bridge is under threat of closure to the public , Making the crossing at this point a thing of the past :-/

The old new Alexandra Bridge. The original was built in 1861 and damaged by high water in 1894. Thirty years later in 1926 as the automobile became popular, the Provincial Government decided to build a new bridge on the same site as the original one. It was closed in 1964 as a new bridge was built 2 kilometres (1.25m) south of here. In 1984 the Alexandra Bridge Provincial Park was established to protect the area's historical values.

From Wiki:

Tower Bridge is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London built between 1886 and 1894. The bridge crosses the River Thames close to the Tower of London and has become an iconic symbol of London. Because of this, Tower Bridge is sometimes confused with London Bridge, situated some 0.5 mi (0.80 km) upstream. Tower Bridge is one of five London bridges now owned and maintained by the Bridge House Estates, a charitable trust overseen by the City of London Corporation. It is the only one of the Trust's bridges not to connect the City of London directly to the Southwark bank, as its northern landfall is in Tower Hamlets.

The bridge consists of two bridge towers tied together at the upper level by two horizontal walkways, designed to withstand the horizontal tension forces exerted by the suspended sections of the bridge on the landward sides of the towers. The vertical components of the forces in the suspended sections and the vertical reactions of the two walkways are carried by the two robust towers. The bascule pivots and operating machinery are housed in the base of each tower. Before its restoration in the 2010s, the bridge's colour scheme dated from 1977, when it was painted red, white and blue for Queen Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee. Its colours were subsequently restored to blue and white.

The bridge deck is freely accessible to both vehicles and pedestrians, whereas the bridge's twin towers, high-level walkways and Victorian engine rooms form part of the Tower Bridge Exhibition, for which an admission charge is made. The nearest London Underground tube stations are Tower Hill on the Circle and District lines, London Bridge on the Jubilee and Northern lines and Bermondsey on the Jubilee line, and the nearest Docklands Light Railway station is Tower Gateway. The nearest National Rail stations are at Fenchurch Street and London Bridge.

In NYC this is my favourite bridge the Queensboro Bridge it is a cantilever bridge which connects Queens with Manhattan passing over the top of Roosevelt Island.

I love the metal work of the bridge it has a really interesting mesh look to it. The bridge supports cars trains and pedestrians it has different levels for all of these type of travellers.

Here is some infomation about the bridge from Wikipedia

The Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge, also known as the 59th Street Bridge – because its Manhattan end is located between 59th and 60th Streets – or simply the Queensboro Bridge, is a cantilever bridge over the East River in New York City that was completed in 1909. It connects the neighborhood of Long Island City in the borough of Queens with Manhattan, passing over Roosevelt Island. It carries New York State Route 25 and is the westernmost of the four East River spans that carry a route number: NY 25 terminates at the west (Manhattan) side of the bridge, which once carried NY 24 andNY 25A as well. The bridge is flanked on its northern side by the freestanding Roosevelt Island Tramway.

In December 2010, the city announced that the bridge would be renamed in honor of former Mayor Ed Koch from the Queensboro Bridge to the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge. The renaming decision was unpopular among Queens residents and business leaders, and many locals continue to refer to the bridge by its older name
