This is the funeral room of Kalash. They leave their dead in the room for 3 days and celebrate the death. Its such a haunting place and yet the light coming from the roof makes it feel like it is connected with another dimension.
Working on my new website for bridal and ceremonial wear, I found this photo in my archive. It depicts hand-embroidered wedding dress I made in 2001. Happy New Year my friends!

Princess Dreams - Standing (B&W): A random ebay find spawned this shoot, Godox V1 rear left and right for the pink background lighting, and a Godox AD200 in the octogon softbox up front left for primary face lighting. A Godox AD200 in a 30x120 softbox front right provided additional full body lighting.
The skardu series is still waiting in my hard disk for me to find time to go through the some 50GB of data, even more difficult is to manage time for post processing.
The shot above is of Chaq chang mosque of Kahply, Skardu. One of the oldest mosque in the region, tiny but beautiful wood work with a touch of Tibetan architecture.

I needed a wide angle to project the architecture and view outside the valley and 18mm was sure not wide enough, I had to lay down and squeeze myself in a coroner to cover most of what I wanted, plus some perspective distortion that looks pleasing at least to my eyes.
One of the reasons I have been away from Flickr in the past period was my engagement in design and production of few orders for bridal and prom dresses.
Eva, the lucky bride, has asked me kindly to help her on the day of her wedding, so I took the chance to make few snapshots.
The inner part of the dress is made of hand embroidered lace, covered with fine silk fabric. Most of the dress is hand sown.
