Bridal Veil Falls east of Chilliwack - British Columbia, Canada
This beautiful waterfall tumbles 60 meters over a smooth rock face,
creating a "veil-like" effect.
Best view in high resolution.
Nikon D800 + Nikkor 24mm f2.8D
The room was far from ideal but it was raining outside so we did whart we could. I never expected to get so much use from the 24mm on this shoot. It was a lifesaver for the small hotel room.
Film photos to come! For this shoot session I used Kodak T-Max 400 in my Nikon F4 :)

Evening light at Niagara Falls. I'm standing on the rim of the gorge, looking across at the American Falls. I'm actually looking east, across the Niagara River. The river flows south to north, from Lake Erie, to Lake Ontario. It always feels like you should be looking south, but, it's not. A very weird feeling. Some day, I'm gonna take a shot like this, and remove all the human references, just to see what it may have looked like, pre-European era.
My first decent shot of the falls!
Ohhh my legs are stiff today, lol!!
But of course it was worth it!

Mehndi (Hindi: मेहँदी, Urdu: مہندی) is the application of henna as a temporary form of skin decoration in the Indian Subcontinent
There is evidence that mehndi as a ceremonial art form originated in ancient India. Intricate patterns of mehndi are typically applied to brides before wedding ceremonies.
This shot too is taken by my wife during her recent visit to India
Enveloped in a sea of soft and silky satin and tafetta petticoats is quite a delicious pleasure! Something a girl can really get used to!
one of those days where rain change plans you have (for the photographer and the couple). the rain stopped , well when we were basically finished with there photos inside a guest house ready to enter the reception hall. the sun were just setting and left this glow. had less than 5 minutes to try and make the best of it. more to follow
It's official, my dear friend Sarah and I are collaborating efforts and building a wedding photography business together. We've named it Red Barn Wedding Photography, and our logo and blog design are currently underway. Meanwhile I recruited the help of a friend of mine who was married last November to another friend of mine, to come and pose for bridal portraits for me, while we portfolio build.

Alles was einen Hochzeitsfotografen glücklich macht!
This is the beautiful Bridal Veil Falls in Provo canyon Utah.
As I was setting up my tripod to create this image, I spotted a young couple sitting at the base of this falls. I approached them and asked if they minded staying put for a few minutes so I could include them in the image. They were thrilled to do so especially after I told them I was going to send them an image of it for obliging me. :-)
I like incorporating a human element in my images when I can to give scale and more interest to the photograph.
Please enjoy the view. :-)

A bridal lace applique cake for the lovely Tiffany from Grant Riley weddings. It will showcase on her stand at A Most Curious Wedding Fair this weekend.
I think this is actually known as the American Falls, the Bridal Veil Falls being the smaller fall adjacent, but I think it made for a nicer title for the photo!

Model Aleisha Brookesmith
Location: Secret (Some may know)
Hair & Make Up: Jay Kruse
This is one of many images from a bridal session I done with the Aleisha Brookesmith. I wasn't too happy at the start of my shoot, as the lighting was giving me a little grief (+ still putting my new Canon 5D MKII through its paces) but not long after we started getting some amazing images. The best part too is we found some amazing locations and the weather was on my side... well for one day atleast. The only other down side is my 24-70mm f2.8 lens seems to be having focusing issues, but hey a little manual focus can cure that.
Speedlight 580exii hand held slightly to left of camera about head height.
Photo edited in Lightroom & Photoshop CS4. This seems to be my stand way of editing at the moment. Plenty more to come in the next few days :D
