A bridal tradition to adorn the bride by applying henna to her body parts. This tradition remains an important custom among traditional families.

A Blushing Bride...One of the most exciting days of my life as many of you would suspect. I spent the entire day in the park taking photos...It was just wonderful.

This building was constructed in 1927 and is the only one of the auto lodges built along the historic Columbia River Highway that still offers lodging. While it remains rustic, it has been extensively remodeled. The lodge is a popular wedding venue.

Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Bark. From the parking area the loop trail to the falls and back is about 700 metres.

This sunflower was given to me from a saved bridal bouquet. Floral gifts are always appreciated.

Doesn't get any nicer than this...Wonderful!

What's that? You haven't seen a waterfall picture in a while? Never fear, Rich Border is here. On a recent trip to our beloved southern neighbor I made a quick dash down to Bridal Veil Falls. Me and another fifty people.... Situated on the amazing Columbia River gorge this two tiered beauty drops 118 feet down a shaft its gouged out for itself through a basalt wall. Blow it up and take it in, she's a wonderful sight.

I had taken some shots of the falls around the platform which is well down from the base of the falls and we were ready to pack it in when my wife suggested i go up to the base where i had been taking pictures of kids who made the climb. 1) There was a sign that read DO NOT PROCEED PAST THIS POINT. 2) Why would a loving wife suggest her husband venture up a rocky steep slope where kids were falling left and right. These questions haunted me as i made my way up to the base and took this shot. I could not get much closer - much to my wife's disappointment - as the spray from the falls made photography pointless.

Bridal Veil Falls

Columbia River Gorge

Oregon

July 2025

Bridal Veil Falls, located in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon, is a picturesque two-tiered waterfall that cascades a total of about 120 feet through a lush, forested canyon. The falls resemble a bride’s flowing veil—hence the name.

This is in the Columbia River Gorge, Oregon side, and most of the way down to Bridal Veil Falls. With the vastness and awesomeness of the area and many waterfalls, it is easy to go into sensual overload and miss the best photographs. I'm sure I did a ton of that but just had to shoot that nice little bridge through the trees if nothing else. Don't ask me exactly where I focused but I see it was at f16 thankfully and probably about 1/3 of the way in to the scene. The Hoya HD3 polarizer was on there for sure. A bit of saturation was added in PS using the Saturation blending mode which does not change the luminosity like usual.

Thank you for your warm and kind visits my friends - you are very much appreciated! :)

This was the bridal carriage for my friend's wedding. We accidently bumped into her whilst trying to find a parking spot close to the wedding. Luckily I was not the groom.

Bridal Veil Falls is a 365 foot (111 m) waterfall at the end of the box canyon overlooking Telluride, Colorado. Hiking and off-road trails pass by the falls and the power plant at its top. In winter the frozen shape of the falls forms an imposing challenge to intrepid ice climbers.

Bridal Veil Falls is a two pronged waterfall.[1] The trail past the falls continues on to mountain meadows and mountain lakes above 10,000 feet (3,000 m).

The house/power plant atop the falls was restored, operated and lived in (1991–2010) by Eric Jacobson. The power generated now provides about 25 percent of Telluride's demand for electricity.

Manitoulin Island, Ontario, Canada. This is a good time to photograph waterfalls in Ontario as the water levels are higher than usual.

Beautiful Bridal Veil Falls at the Columbia River Gorge area, Oregon.

Just one of many waterfalls along what is one of the most scenic drives in the world, the Icefields Parkway. I thought the low lying clouds added drama to this beautiful waterfall.

Yes, I know. The name Bridal Veil Falls is one of the most common. This series of cascades is found in Keystone Canyon, a beautiful gorge east of Valdez, Alaska. The falls empties into the Lowe River alongside the Richardson Highway (AK-4).

I really like the texture in this small waterfall in the Sierra foothills. There are a lot of falls named "Bridal Veil". This one looks like the whole dress to me.
