This is my entry into the fantasy heights category. Though this gate is wider than it is tall it is still massive, consisting of roughly 20000 pieces not including the background builds. Had a bit of a scare yesterday when studio crashed and seemingly deleted my file. Luckily I was able to recover it through a backup and finish in time for the summer joust.

Built for the silhouette category in this years Summer Joust. I originally wanted to recreate the whole boxart of the old 677 castle set but realizing how huge of a time commitment that would have been I chose to simplify, settling for one knight and focusing on selling the stained glass effect. I'm pretty pleased with the end result. The surrounding wall contrasts the flatness of the window itself. Because it's a digital entry I went all out with the parts in yet non existant recolors.
Inspired by the art of Longque Chen, here is my version of his Big Foot post-apocalyptic vehicle.

TIME FOR CRAB
Apparently red egg crabs look a bit pancake-like when they are young, so here is a pancake crab, complete with a maple syrup and butter fascinator.
Built in Bricklink Studio, as I kept realizing I did not have the parts I needed in the correct colors. I have not done much digital building, so I think this turned out quite nicely!
A merry Christmas and my best wishes for the new year, everyone! After a year such as this, more than ever I wish you a year packed to the brim with long and warm hugs. Hug the people you love. Hug the people you only now realize you want to hug. Hug everyone who might possibly need it. Embrace each other and each other's differences.
----
It didn't work out last year, but this year I couldn't let the opportunity to participate in the BuildToGive initiative slide. So I'm back with a (vaguely) holiday-themed build which I put together surprisingly quickly over the last three days in between all of the festivities! Such speed was only possible because of the great stud.io program and my new laptop that does Blender renders ten times faster than the previous one. Sweet.
Anyway, I'm really quite pleased with how the expressions on the two structurally identical figures turned out with such a limited amount of bricks. And I also surprised myself that I was able to do so in a reasonably solid build as far as the core goes. Just don't breathe on those arms, but I guess there's no way to make them really solid on this scale. Either way, I hope you can hold on to your loved ones more tightly. And if you can't, I hope you can feel the warmth from the figures in this embrace!
Another year, another ship… and a new Digitally Assembled video? Why yes!!
I created 红海 (Hóng Hăi) using the AI tool Midjourney to produce an image to base the design off of.
I worked with my friend and incredible concept artist, Till Freitag, to explore Midjourney and challenge us to create two very unique looking spaceships inspired by Midjourney’s prompt.
Are you curious how we created our designs? Follow the link to check out the video with Till and I on Digitally Assembled: youtu.be/kc8M9Iw9B_0
For those unfamiliar, SHIPtember is an annual LEGO community challenge where a builder must create a spaceship 100+ studs long on the longest axis within 1 months’ time. This is my third SHIPtember. This year was special with the inclusion of Midjourney and collabing with Till. The ship took roughly 62 hrs and was made in Bricklink Studio, Cinema 4D with Arnold, and Photoshop using my Puget Systems machine. Till’s art used Blender and Photoshop.(you can find his version on his and my Instagram page)
Here are my thoughts on my design’s fictional bio:
红海 (Hóng Hăi) is a Chinese deep space radiation research ship launched in the year 3090. It was made by the 太空海军研究会 (The Space Naval Research Society) in 3087 and reached Saturn on May 21st 3090. Its primary mission was to research a strange phenomenon of new unknown forms of radiation occurring near Saturn.
The ship is equipped with a large laser array to study the phenomenon and radiation levels up close. The main “sail” carries billions of sensors to detect various forms of radiation. It hosts a crew of 7 who are well shielded inside the spacecraft when not inside the large rear observation deck. The ship is 632.5 ft tall (192.79 meters). 7 years into its mission findings discovered the unique radiation was caused by The Shell, an alien inter-dimensional artifact discovered by German astronauts in 3093 near Neptune. The purpose of The Shell is yet to be determined but the radiation left in its wake was found to cause disruptions in the fabric of reality wherever it resided. Hóng Hăi’s taikonauts have been recognized for their findings upon return to earth.
The Lego model is 114 studs long (35.8in), 138 studs high (43. 6in), and 87 studs wide (27.3in) and has 7732 pieces.

Walked past a building the other day with balconeys arranged like a bar graph following a linear function as seen from above. I liked the mathematical elegance of it and immediately thought of part 6044 (Slope 53 3 x 1 x 3 1/3 with Studs on Slope) and knew I had to build it. After completion I was pretty happy with what I had accomplished, apart from two pieces not being available in the color I would have wanted. However, after seeing how expensive this build would have been to purchase the pieces for I decided I might as well just let it live in the computer. Let those two pieces be that color I wanted and let it be. So here are some shots of the finished product.

I financially give support monthly to an organization called Rapha International that helps young children who are being exploited and trafficked in Cambodia and elsewhere in the world.
Although much of this world has been impacted by the virus, there are still many who are in desparate need of help due to other challenging and unfortunate circumstances. Thankfully there are those who still are working hard to build a better world like those at Rapha International who not only are rescuing children out of bondage but giving them the hope of a new and free life.
If you can help support @raphaintl then please do (go to rapha.org for more info) but I want to encourage all of you builders out there to take this time to build something real or digital that brings light and attention to a cause you believe in and use the hashtag #buildabetterworldwithlego
Let's build a better world together.

Here is my microscale version of Lego Castle set 375. I’ve tried to capture its essence in a single upturned yellow 2x2 brick (the OG had 12).
I’ve submitted this model to another Lego Ideas contest, if you like it please leave a wee comment on my entry page.
➡️ ideas.lego.com/challenges/c7291324-89fa-4ec3-83bd-0de5a4f... ⬅️
Containing a meagre 38 parts, it is fully connected and stable.
I have included 2 small, printed elements: the castle flag (1x1 tile) and the entrance gateway (one side of the 2x2 brick). These were created in Photoshop and then PartDesigner, before importing into BrickLink Studio.
The original set was designed by Daniel August Krentz, their work continues to inspire me and others 44 years later.

I made this moving PacMan display that uses inter channel figures. The actual IDEA project page has gifs that show the moving of the figures in the build. The movement is done with a manual crank on the side of the stand which can be seen on other images in the project. The ghost figures on the stand are interchangeable with the figures you see on the side.

"Sometimes a quiet rustling of the leaves spells doom for those who wander the Mystic Forest without the care or respect it is due. A few of the warrior mice of Ardeth within the Mystic Forest have braved death to mount the most posionous creatures of the realm, the poison dart frog, to guard its borders. These brave little ones are not to be dismissed as they are highly skilled archers who tip their arrow heads in the poison of their amphibious rides. Just one shot from these tiny assassins is guarunteed death so tread through the forests very carefully..."
I created a 3rd build for the digital category of Brickscalibur. I started building this at a much larger scale but then opted for a smaller but fun build. Hope you enjoy!
This was created using Bricklink Studio, Cinema 4D and Octane renderer. All made possible with @greyscalegorilla Plugins and @pugetsystems machine.
Here is my third build in my colorwheel series of 2025. #colorwheelchallenge
This build was done in 2.8 hrs.

Diving for Thanksgiving Dinner
-A bit of an odd one: I created this for my RLUG's (Sacramento Brick Builders) monthly build challenge. This month the challenge was either "nautical" or "thanksgiving" so why not combine them? Turkeys need their own holiday dinner and this bird is ready to dive for some fish...no matter how small.
Made on a Puget Systems machine with Quixel Bridge, Bricklink Studio, Mecabricks, Cinema 4D, Octane, and Photoshop
Space Police Planetary Hammerhead Incident Support Harrier
aka- The Big P.H.I.S.H.
Made for #febrovery this is an ode to my childhood in two ways: One of my favorite sets growing up was the Solar Snooper from the "green" era of Space Police. The other influence was my brother and my favorite non-LEGO toys- the Cobra Hammerhead from G.I.Joe.
This rover reuses the wheels I made for my MTron Gigaton Flux Inductor moc. The P.H.I.S.H. operates on planets with water and is amphibious by nature. When the Aquanauts call for help to deal with pesky Aquasharks the Space Police are there to help with this enforcement vehicle. The vehicle carries two Poseidon Darts, each equipped with 4 torpedoes and a harpoon cannon plus a holding compartment for criminals behind the pilot. There are also two T.U.N.A subs (Tactical Underwater Nautical Attack sub) each carrying two torpedoes.
On the harrier itself are two torpedoes, a rotating dual harpoon cannon, and two dual barrel forward-facing cannons. The vehicle is operated by two drivers, two Poseidon Dart pilots, two T.U.N.A. sub pilots, and an additional enforcement officer.
Hope you like this nostalgic build. It was created using the Greyscalegorilla Plus Plugins, Bricklink Studio, Cinema4D, and Photoshop on a Puget Systems machine. I started this build two days ago and took roughly 8 hrs to make.
Captain Crocco and Parker the Parrot his right hand man. Parker might not be the greatest when it comes to the right handing business considering the current state of Crocco's, but that parrot is the only one the Captain trusts enough to let them near the gold. Though Parker is a bit of a yes man. In fact yes is the only word he knows.
'bout halfway finished with creating all the stickers and printed parts. It's getting there.

This fictional Brig was build in spain and served until 1715 in the spanish treasure fleet under the name of "El Dorado". Captured in a hurricane by jailed pirates under the lead of Cpt. Edward Kenway and Adéwalé which were supposed to be carried by the fleet to sevillle to execute them. Under Kenway, she was renamed to the name Jackdaw and became one of the strongest pirate ships in the seven seelas, with a peak of rediculous 56 canons.
Thanks to @chucky_in_charge for giving me a lot of advice here and there! Go and look go and check out his USS Constitution, which I took actually the inspiration and motivation for this build from. And if you haven't done or did it long ago, play AC4. NOW

So my girlfriend and I (but mostly my girlfriend :p) have this obsession with baby swans. We think they're just the cutest things ever! We used to go for walks specifically to see the local specimens and I believe we have hundreds of pictures of our beloved cygnets. We even have our own lingo to describe them: a baby swan is called a "swanling" and older specimens that still haven't left their parents are called "sweenagers".
A swanling MOC was therefore inevitable. Inspired by the recent Lego Art sets, I went with a 2D approach mixing smooth SNOT for the main elements with a softer studs-up mosaic for the background in order to get a nice contrast. Recently, I've also been very inspired by painting techniques, so I tried to play with colors in the shadows and highlights of the swanling to give it some vibrancy. After a while, I realized I was going in a Beatrix Potter direction, so I leaned into it and made the scene a little bit more whimsical by giving our cute little swanling a little caterpillar buddy to play around with.
Hopefully your as charmed as I was during building!
🎸🎸🎸Yngwie Malmsteen🎸🎸🎸 Yngwie Malmsteen is one of, if not the greatest neo-classical metal guitarists to have ever played. One of my absolute favorite performances of his was from the live show in Leningrad in 1989. Metal is my favorite genre of music and I really love Yngwie's mad arpeggio riffing on the guitar. I've depicted it here with Yngwie as a large brick-built figure playing his famous Fender. The moc has 2642 pieces and is 30 inches tall.
I created this for the Lego Ideas "Strike a Chord with the Fender Stratocaster!" contest. If my entry makes it into the top 40 there will be voting for the grand prize.

This is my first and only entry into this years summer joust. Would have wanted to build more but work and stuff at home kept my busy. Anyhow. This is my take on the old yellow castle for the "Festival of colour" category. Trying to make something colourful in a medieval setting I instantely thought of the set. It was a bit tricky finding good substitutes for gray and white but I settled on lighter blues and sand green.
Happy thanksgiving! The Iowa(s) have arrived! For those who have been following my WIP stories on instagram - I know I’ve kept you waiting and thank you for your patience!
The four Iowa class ships, Iowa (61), New Jersey (62), Missouri (63) and Wisconsin (64) need no introduction - they are icons of engineering and synonymous to modern American naval history. I was nervous to tackle this project as I cannot afford to mess up her easily recognizable proportions, especially the elongated bow and her unmistakably thiccc stern. I chose to represent the late WWII configuration (~1944) of the lead ship(BB-61) here with the added AA mounts and no camo (I believe this is what she looked like when she was ferrying FDR, chasing the Japanese decoy fleet at Leyte and accompanying the mighty Mo at Japan’s surrender. This will serve as a template for me to build all her classmates as well as her modernizations (with Tomahawk cruise missiles and everything ) which I cannot wait.
I very much look forward to sharing more renderings and building techniques in the coming weeks!
Space: Chase for the Brick - I decided to enter the LEGO Ideas contest: "You're the Final Piece" where contestants are to create a picture/art with Lego in 4 categories. I chose space. It was an opportunity for me to try some more techniques in Cinema 4D, Octane, and use the powerful asset engine, Quixel Bridge. This was completed using Bricklink Studio, Mecabricks, Cinema 4D, Greyscale Gorilla Lightkit Pro 3, Octane, Quixel Bridge, and Adobe Photoshop all done on a Puget machine. I hope you like it and I hope it does well in the contest. Go on over to Lego Ideas to check it out!
