Donnington Mill was perhaps one of the Mills of Broadwell Manor, which dated back to 1291. In the 16th century it was used as a Cloth Mill which the Lord of the Manor of Donnington rebuilt and converted into two Corn Mills circa 1580.
Today the Millhouse is still there in splendid condition and operates as part of the Brewery. Even the mill wheel is still used to drive small pumps and machines. The end product, Donnington's traditional beers, are still produced by much the same recipe that has always been in use. The basic requirement, that is water or, in brewing terms "liquor", is drawn from a strong spring beside the mill pond and has proved to be satisfactory for use in the brewing process in its natural state.
Celebrating job well done with a Vega Easy IPA, my favorite alcohol free beer 😊

This is one of about 27 buildings in the Lemp brewery complex in Saint Louis, MO. USA. Lemp is long since out of business, others have occupied portions of the complex since.
A few days ago I showed pictures of a castle in an English landscape garden. In any case, the castle also has an old brewery, which has had brewing rights since the end of the 16th century. It is still brewed today! Behind this door is the old cooling cellar for storing the beer kegs. I can only guess what significance the pipes have: Possibly to supply fresh air? Whats your opinion?
Burton on Trent is steeped in brewing history, you can still sense that beer is in the air, and more than anything, it’s in the water. This is the love, passion & motivation that Burton Town put into the Real Ale they brew.
Ask your typical British beer drinker what Burton-on-Trent is famous for, and you might not get the answer you were expecting. They’ll probably frown, think for a second, then say, “Oh yeah, the FA Cup upset last year!”
You might think that Munich, Pilsen or Dublin could challenge Burton for the title of World’s Most Important Brewing Town. But those other towns never had a reputation that scaled the heights of Burton, the spiritual home of America’s favourite beer style, India Pale Ale. Just over a century ago, Burton was the undisputed brewing capital of the world. It was home to over thirty breweries and the world’s most famous beer brand. The town’s beers were imitated globally but never bettered.
So, you don't need to be a photographer, to walk around Burton-On-Trent?
Just become a Piss-artist and you will go swell in this town, my Flickr friends!

In the former malt tower of the Basel brewery, new spaces with a public character have been created spread over nine floors. A metal staircase visible from the outside (designed by Stefan Eisele and Fabian Nichele) provides access for a broad public.

The history of James Boags Brewery is a fascinating one that began with the Esk Brewery along The Esplanade in 1881. Barely a year later it was bought by James Boag and his son, and has now become one of Australia's iconic premium beers.

The glass walled building seen here (creatively lit green from inside) houses the mash tun room dating from the 1960s. This is where yeast is added to the barley mash and the conversion to alcohol takes place from the sugars in the barley. The neon sign is one of the last remaining of its kind in Australia.
