The Connecticut River is affected by tides -- this point is 17 miles upriver from Long Island Sound -- which makes for interesting ice sculptures as the water beneath the ice rises and falls. (Last winter we had a lot of ice, and as the tide went out one could hear constant cracks and booms as it settled.)

Tristan would not leave, So I started taking pictures of him and he grabbed the camera out of my hand and snapped photos of me.
so i think we're done.
he randomly decided to leave at 2ish in the morning because he couldn't sleep and didn't want to wake me up
but it never has before
and i think im just done now. he knows how i feel... and apparently doesn't feel the same way but is okay with staying with me anyway.
and i'm not okay with that.
now i just have to tell him.
the first time we went out was on day 9.
