Octobers chilly weather does good for a lonely soul

We are out on the veranda, breathing in the cold breeze

Lovely blanket wrapped around me

Mark is on his way to Canada

Aiko and me are eating our breakfast alone after all these days

It's really weird

Being apart when you know we should never be apart

Feeling so blessed in the way my life has turned

All love to give

All love to receive

Wow what a journey

And he will soon be back

I nearly can't wait

Today WAH are sharing breakfast and visiting Breakfast Bliss

Sunday breakfast is probably my favourite meal of the week. Today, sweet pepper and cheese omelette , bacon and English muffin. With the usual coffee and orange juice.

This grebe had a successful fishing venture. I watched for over a minute as it worked this fish down its throat. On Commonwealth Lake.

Have a nice weekend.

Habt ein schönes Wochenende.

Against a foggy dawn backdrop, one of my regular pairs of Blue Faced Honey Eaters enjoy the Jacaranda out the back.

The girls usually wake me to go outside, right on the first weak light when the sun is still below the horizon.

( Pip gets concerned if she thinks it's taking too long, jumps on the bed to bounce me into the new day, and I finally open my eyes to see her standing over me )

I don't mind, as this is the coolest part of the day, and it's the time when all the locals come browsing for a snack.

I'm chuffed to get anything half decent of these lovelies, as they move around so much, but the half light and shaky hands make it more of a challenge.

no ed's.

It all began with two pelicans on a log. One was asleep, the other one was preening. Then a darter female landed on the log and woke up the pelican, which in turn chased the darter away. So she went fishing, Soon after a couple of dives she emerged with a fish skilfully speared with her beak. I thought that this was it. But what followed was a careful breakfast preparation, which included killing the fish, dropping it in water, diving again, bringing it back on the log and after it was properly positioned for swallowing, the breakfast was eaten.

Here the fish is taken out of water for the second time.

Osprey with breakfast taken a couple of weeks ago in Aviemore. A fantastic couple of weeks spent up there with a great group of folks!

Great Egrets develop fancy plumes when they are in breeding plumage and seem to be quite famous for that but their lores also change color from yellow to a lime green and the top mandible turning very dark. With the lores being so colorful during courtship the eyes seem to look even paler than normal.

Fish are a dietary staple, but great egrets use similar techniques to eat amphibians, reptiles, mice, and other small animals. These birds nest in trees, near water and gather in groups called colonies, which may include other heron or egret species.

I found this one in the early stages of changing to the breeding colors and plumage along Joe Overstreet Road as it was catching a Catfish for breakfast.

Breakfast at Civitavecchia, Lazio, Italy, before boarding a Mediterranean cruise. Those were the good old days I reminisce nostalgically.

Spotted (and photographed) this kooka through the (dirty) window as I came up for breakfast this morning. He/she had already started without me, picking off worms/grubs that were emerging from the lawn after last night's rain.

White cheeked barbet - The white-cheeked barbet (Psilopogon viridis) is a species of barbet found in southern India. It is very similar to the more widespread brown-headed barbet (or large green barbet) (Psilopogon zeylanica) but this species has a distinctive supercilium and a broad white cheek stripe below the eye and is endemic to the forest areas of the Western Ghats and adjoining hills of India.
