An arrow freeze. This is a poor angle and there was so much clutter in my living room. I intend on redoing the shot at a later date in a better environment.
Toronto's annual celebration of graffiti, hip hop and breakdance, the 416 Expo, happens in the parking lot and alleyways off Queen and Portland. These are from the 9th year, 2004.
Okay, I've stumbled onto a breakdancing contest. That's more interesting. I took a bunch of pictures, but am only showing a few. My cell phone camera is decent, but the shutter isn't fast at all, making action photography difficult.
From some shots I took at a friend's breakdancing competition. Squeezed off nearly 1000 pictures in 3h!? The standard of the dancers was very high and it was a great spectacle.
This was also the first time I have used off camera flash in anger. I taped my sb80 to the speakers (back and right in this shot) and bounced it off the ceiling. I found that it was still necessary to crank up to 800 iso in order to give me the necessary recycle time and freeze the action.
Maybe get a fish eye for next time?
Diverse Soulz at the Dallas Museum of Art's Late Night program. I really wish I'd had my SLR with me that night.
