Okay, I've stumbled onto a breakdancing contest. That's more interesting. I took a bunch of pictures, but am only showing a few. My cell phone camera is decent, but the shutter isn't fast at all, making action photography difficult.
From some shots I took at a friend's breakdancing competition. Squeezed off nearly 1000 pictures in 3h!? The standard of the dancers was very high and it was a great spectacle.
This was also the first time I have used off camera flash in anger. I taped my sb80 to the speakers (back and right in this shot) and bounced it off the ceiling. I found that it was still necessary to crank up to 800 iso in order to give me the necessary recycle time and freeze the action.
Maybe get a fish eye for next time?
Diverse Soulz at the Dallas Museum of Art's Late Night program. I really wish I'd had my SLR with me that night.
Last dancing pic. I didn't get any from the ground level because, at 5'8", I am tall by Japanese standards, but not really TALLER. That is to say, I didn't tower over everyone else, so getting into position to get good shots was too much of a hassle.
