A pair of SW10s break and build trains in Union Pacific's North Yard in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 21, 1996. Big changes were on the way with regard to train routing after the Union Pacific and Southern Pacific merged on Sept. 11th of the same year.
A couple of larger breaks in cloud cover an hour or so before sunset provides a late burst of sunshine and crepuscular rays over part of Tokyo.
Red eared slider slippin' off a log during a break dance maneuver. Fast shutter speed was able to capture the whole bit. This is the video of the moves.
Conditions were very calm at Oyster Cove, Paignton where I headed for the sunrise and although a bank of cloud hugged the horizon preventing me from capturing the sun coming up over the horizon I did not have to wait long for it to break through the cloud bathing the sea with its warm light. Thanks for looking today.

'QJ' 2-10-2 No.7019 makes a bold and impressive attempt at breaking out of the pollution, chiefly created by the fires from the hutong dwellings of Shuangyashan City, as it heads away from the China Rail exchange sidings at 8.30am with empty coal gondola wagons for an outlying colliery on the extensive Shuangyashan Mining Railway system on 31st December 2000.

The sun starts to break through the morning fog catching one pelican in this group of intermingling double-crested cormorants and American white pelicans. I thought about lowering the exposure for a different mood, but stayed with this as it's more reflective of the actual scene. It works either way. White Rock Lake, Dallas, Texas, USA, November 2016

Now I reckon you astute folks might notice something curious in this picture. How is it that this here 1948 Chevy truck has a license plate showing 1946. Well I could say something like old Thurmond doesn’t fuss much about keeping up to date with such things as getting new license plates………..or I could say the “truth” which is that this older license plate was the only 40’s plate I had in my archives.
The truck was recorded at the ATHS Convention and Truck Show at the State fairgrounds in Springfield, Illinois - June, 2022
