Bread History
Spotted: Gurney Plaza, Penang, Malaysia
Gist: Bakery with Western pastries and Asian-influenced pick-your-own goodies, not to be confused with nearly identical BreadTalk (my favorite) or Bread Story.
Oddity: Spare Rib Bun, which have nothing to do with ribs and everything to do with sausage (non-pork), chicken floss and mayonnaise.

Ok that's too much food coloring!! I just love breadtalk colored bread i couldn't resist getting them!! I used a couple drops of black food coloring for the faces. I couldn't make the frog mouth with black olives and my kid doesn't like nori :( i'm thinking to use the bunny for my kids bento tomorrow..maybe i'll make her a turkey sandwich or a cheese burger...

1. Hypermart (1st outside Java.... that's why Pekanbaru also called as city of investment)
2. J.Co (lovely donuts, in Sumatra you only can find this in Palembang, Batam, and Pekanbaru, ..... c'mon another business opportunity ....)
3. BreadTALK (said to be the 1st branch outside Java, ..... c'mon so many franchise has proven PEKANBARU has potency .,,,, comparing to Padang or Jambi for instance.... They are now suffered economy stagnance)
4. Popeye Restaurant
5. Solaria
6. Timezone (3rd branches in Pekanbaru .... c'mon .... this is the city of economy, right????)

It just felt so good wandering in a bakery, not wanting to buy some for my stomach but enjoying the beauty of cakes baked fresh from the oven, colorful and tempting. I again imagined what my composition would've looked like if I'd had my camera with me. This splash of olive green color inspired me, and I bought this green tea muffin on merely photography purpose -- it seems that self-indulgence does you good sometimes.
Free style Padang buffet. I like the vegetarian dishes. What you see: eggplant, taufu, tempeh, omelette and vegetables in coconut (lodeh)
