Sarah Français' Alpha Project was performed at the Second Nature festival in Aix-en-Provence (France). Music was played live by Greg Lion and Rorre Ecco (Beat Pleasure).
The brainwaves of the dancers were monitored thanks to EMOTIV's EPOC neuroheadset and transformed in real-time in digital visual art projected while the dancers were performing. It offered a new dimension to the artistic performance allowing dancers to express themselves with their bodies and their brains.

This was just a brainwave I had so as I figured I had nothing else to shoot today, I'd try this!
I whacked a sweet wrapper over my fisheye lens and this was the result. For a first attempt, I'm rather stoked.
First rehearsal of Sarah Français' Alpha project with Sarah Français (choreographer & dancer), Greg Lion (music), Felix Heaulme (dancer) and Jacques Lavoisier (neuroscience). The dancers are wearing EMOTIV's EPOC neuroheadset allowing their brainwaves to be monitored and transformed into visual digital art in real time.
So on Monday I had a brainwave: I'm surrounded by filmmakers, I wonder if I can get a director to come to my class on Tuesday night and show their film? George Yatchisin listened to my question and pointed out two guys from Spain sitting in the Lobero audience. Coincidence: they were from Barcelona and their film showed a week after mine at Les Borges Blanques. So they knew Jordi and Eulalia, etc. Cool. AND it turns out, when they showed their film "Avatar" that (phew!) it was really really good. So after the class I took them out to the SBCC cafeteria. It was almost like my way of giving thanks back to Barcelona.

This is a Boys Club is an experimental on-going solo sound live project which connects electronic music and the use of analog devices such as tape players and typewriters in order to create a soundscape mainly consisting of repetitive sounds / loops plus pre-recorded and live spoken voice and noise layers. A common typewriter becomes a noise machine / interface by use of contact microphones that are sent through an Arduino-microcontroller triggering a pure data patch in order to play back noisy sound files (the artist’s own brainwave recordings she got after an EEG).

The Global Teacher Prize is awarded at the end of the Global Education and Skills Forum by the Varkey Foundation, to honor all the teachers of the world.
Dancers on stage were wearing EMOTIV's Insight neuroheadset to monitor their brainwaves in real time. The brainwaves were then transformed in visual art and projected on a 360° screen to the delight of the audience.

Tonight I had a rather large brainwave to what I want to do for my A2 photography course. It's certainly ambitious but I will fight blood, sweat and tears to fulfil this shoot. It's the most excited I've been about something for a long time!
On this trail I remember being irritated for a while as I couldn't seem to find anywhere to stand to compose a photo where the trail could be seen.
I did contemplate switching to a wider angle lens (which is often the "easy way out") but then I had a bit of a brainwave.
Seeing the trail wasn't important. This part of the ride was about being in amidst tightly packed spindly trees.
So I decided to make the picture be about the tightly packed spindly trees.
I hiked off into the undergrowth to get a bit of distance between me and the rider. Then I zoomed in. A longer focal length often compresses the perspective of a scene. This made the trees look suitably close together.
I positioned the rider quite far down the frame (slightly below the "rule of thirds" blah-blah) so as to place the emphasis on the tall trees stretching out above the rider's head.
Work with your environment, not against it.
