The museum has a fine collection of clocks.
This c1750 clock is by Gardelle of Paris and is in the Rococo style. The case is decorated with Vernis Martin in the "Japanning" style.
The Bowes Museum is a rather eccentric and quite amazing museum in Barnard Castle in England.
The museum is the vision of a pioneering woman, Joséphine Bowes and her husband John.
Lots of birch trees damaged in the wood (presumably in the recent high winds), but this one was still standing, and had a dinner plate sized bracket
A friend of mine was wandering in Windsor Great Park the same day and saw exactly the same load of oyster mushrooms. It's a small world, and was a great day for a walk!

Exposure Bracketing: Containing three images at intended exposure and the +/- compensations of the bracketing. Place the normally exposed image in the centre panel, the underexposed image in the left panel, and the over-exposed image in the right panel.
One image is focused on the light pole in the background and the other is focused on the piece of equipment in the foreground.

One method of building uses brackets to hold up the roof. There are no nails used to construct this roof in a muslin temple in Xi'an.
The YAFFL (York Adult Flag Football League) annual #Win8s tournament wrapped up this past Sunday after pool play on Saturday and bracket play on Sunday to determine the champ. The tournament had two division, the Comp and the Rec. BlackOps team had previously won the Rec division last year, and had move up to the Comp division this year and took the Chip against Showtime in the Sunday morning bracket. In the Rec bracket which started Sunday afternoon, the Jungle Boyz defeated KodEx.
