This may or may not be a bracket fungus, but I think it is.

Bracket Fungus seen on a rotting log at Broomhead reservoir.

For old fogies like me, it was about 2" wide; for the rest of you anout 50mm.

Anyone got an ID on this one please?

Been shooting a bunch of black and whites for "flash of red"...not my forte

The log stacks at Abberton Reservoir are playing host to some fine fungi, like this Trametes sp. bracket!

This variation of the bearing bracket widens the inner radius surrounding the bearing by 0.5mm. I also raised a 1mm ring around the top surface to strengthen the larger, upper tear-drop shaped bolt holes.

Interesting colours and forms of rainforest fungi give the observant trekker something to look for at the leaf-litter level.

Went a bit of a fungus expedition near Pickering, came up with quite a collection. All on the Nikon D3 where the ISO versatility helps in the rather dark condityions and the trust5 manual 55mm f3.5 Ai Nikkor

Bracket fungus. 21 October 2017. Perivale, Ealing, London, England, UK.

The fungus is 8cm across. I can't identify the species but I'll try and go back to identify the host tree which might help.

Macro Monday - theme: DIY

I made brackets like these for each of my flash units. When a flash is on an umbrella adapter with an umbrella, with this bracket it's flat and very close to the stem of the umbrella, aimed along the center axis (instead of 5"-8" offset in typical position on an umbrella adapter). Also, the weight of the flash unit counter-balances the umbrella better.

All cleaned up and installed it looks like it was made for this trailer at the factory.

Isn't that a pretty design? Why thank you, I think so, too!

Because I’m a sucker for good drama, believe that Cinderella Story may be the new black, and am beholden to the University System of Maryland for signing my paychecks, here’s my bracket: an all DC metro area final with the Terps shocking everyone. It could happen. Fireproof your couches.

To support the aluminium inlet elbow, RB uses a two-piece cad-plated bracket. The horizontal piece is drilled to fit the two stock mounting bolts, and also the two drilled holes in the elbow. The rearmost of the four bolts also slips through the vertical bracket, which in turn bolts into one of the holes used to support the stock airbox.

While I'm thinking of it: One of the things that made this installation a lot easier was something I learned years ago and do automatically: Never tighten the first nut all the way. On this, and also on the Z-bracket in the adjacent picture, I finger-tightened all the nuts & bolts to get the piece situated well. Once I knew everything was lined up and in the right orientation, THEN it was time to snug everything down.

I decided to hang my guitar on the wall using this instructable:

www.instructables.com/id/ETJVVQQCJ1EP287HSI/?ALLSTEPS

I used some bracket I already had, and coverd them with acrylic yarn.

overall I'm slightly worried that this setup isn't stable enough as these brackets only have one screw hole aligned horizontally and not two like those in the instructable.
