Cupar signal box, Box diagram. Track Circuit block to Edinburgh IECC to the right / South, absolute block to Leuchars to the left / North. Not the sharpest of images but just about legible if you use the "original" size image. I have it also recorded in chunks on my comp so if you wanted to see any section of the diagram in fetail just ask.
The height of the British summer,18th July 2012, saw me and my eldest set off from Nottingham for an Everton pre-season friendly at Dundee. What could go wrong ? Bhy the time we got to Edinburgh at lunch time the evening fixture had already been called off due to a waterlogged pitch !
I had arranged to visit my ex signal school colleague at Tay Bridge South where he was working the afternoon turn so I carried on regardless and pulled in two other boxes on the way.
These are the very grey images from that afternoon.
I've been meaning to do a still life shot of these boxes for some time. I set them in front of my computer monitor, with a white screen.
Decided the other day to work on other things, but I have this one hanging around....

The original drawer pulls. Fitting them back in, it became apparent that no two were identical. Gotta line up them screw heads or I can't get a good night's sleep.

Box-O-Ranch in the eastern portion of the Soda Mountain Wilderness. The Omnibus Public Lands Management Act of 2009, Public Law No. 111-011, Section 1405, designated 24,100 acres of the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument as wilderness. The Soda Mountain Wilderness encompasses the rich biological and geological diversity in the mountains southeast of Ashland, Oregon. The new wilderness lies on the south side of the Medford District. The heart of the wilderness is the 5,720-foot high Boccard Point where the great basin meets three mountain ranges. The older Klamath Range comes up from the south while the much younger Siskiyou Range extends from the west. Jutting up from the north is the very young Cascade Range.

I decorated this wooden box with black and gold paint and beads.
"Madame Bessie" is handmade with natural clay and painted at the end of drying. Than I dressed her with a very chic bohemian clothes (so nice the little hat); deep burgundy velvet, pearls and black laces make it even more elegant
This craft is unique (no objects included). Inside I lined the bases with red felt. It can be given to insert for example a small gift, such as a jewel, or it can be given empty because it is already very beautiful. The use is very varied and can decorate any corner of your home.

Arrived at Penmaenmawr just as the 1I16, Holyhead - Birmingham International arrived in the station. With passengers waiting there was just enough time to get onto the footbridge for the departure.Two 2-car units,the second one, 150-259 still in Arriva trains livery !

Well, tomorrow morning we are off to Florida to visit the grandkids. Well, we're actually off to Savannah, GA first for two days, then to Jacksonville, FL to see the grandkids, then down to St. Augustine for New Years, and a final stop in Chattanooga, TN to stay on the Delta Queen...our favorite ship/hotel. It's going to be a busy 8 days! :) I'll pop in occasionally but guess that I'll be kept pretty busy. So I'll have LOTS to catch up on when I get back.

My father had two female cousins, fourteen and seventeen years older than he was, who lived on a farm that was in close proximity to the one where he lived. They were very fond of him and his sister, and my dad stayed in contact with them their whole lives.
This was their sewing box that somehow went to my mother when the younger sister died. When my mom died it came to me. The decal is worn off in numerous places and the box is rather beat up, but I love this reminder of what I always thought of as two very dear old ladies.
