Bear boxes have various designs. All require that you have at least one person in your party with fingers and who is smarter than a bear.
I haven't seen this kind of lock elsewhere.
Dune Creek Camp, Great Sand Dunes National Park. The camp is nestled in some cottonwoods along Sand Creek, facing the end of the dune field. It's altogether serviceable but not a "destination" site like Aspen.
The Box Canyon Waterfall is Ouray’s natural wonder—formed when the rushing waters of Canyon Creek eroded a deep and narrow box canyon through fault weakened limestone. This is one of the most unique and hard to photograph waterfall I have seen. The power and flow cannot be captured only experienced.
A little addition, the yellow Mail Box is the post office of V City. As a corner building, it could just be a typical one using up all the space provided, but I want to reclaim it back to the public. I open up the two sides of the box, creating a semi-outdoor entrance. The building is then constructed along the remaining two walls.
The grey little box is the entrance where you have the normal mail services and buy postcards and stuff. The black box is the office area, in which staff sorts the mail and does other administrative things. The lift shaft and the loading bay hide nicely behind these two walls also, without disrupting the grand entrance space.
The top roof has an opening, allowing the drones to be dispatched. What a fast way to do quick mailing service!
At 1.83 miles in length, Box Tunnel lies between Chippenham and Bath. Slowly being swallowed by trees, the 17:30 Paddington - Taunton HST emerges.

dear dear box 'o mine
have you ever seen inside?
what you have
and
what you owe,
those desire that makes you glow.
glowing & glowing till the end
and then my love i put my hand.
yes my love! i felt the glow
creeping screaming that calm-sy blow,
then a whisper came to hear
told me- i know when it tears!!
pick me my dear 'o hand
and watch me doing magic again.
i picked and saw in the grab,
one was LUST & other was happiness.
so which i should go with now??
asked the magic box-
do you know how to feed me how??
magic box never spoke to me again
but YES!!
it was still glowing the same.

Little boxes on the hillside
Little boxes made of ticky tacky
Little boxes
Little boxes
Little boxes all the same
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same
And the people in the houses
All went to the university,
Where they were put in boxes
And they came out all the same,
And there's doctors and lawyers,
And business executives,
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.
And they all play on the golf course
And drink their martinis dry,
And they all have pretty children
And the children go to school,
And the children go to summer camp
And then to the university,
Where they are put in boxes
And they come out all the same.
And the boys go into business
And marry and raise a family
In boxes made of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one,
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.

This is a railroad boxcar that carried Jews to the death camps. You enter the Museum through here. You can walk in and walk through but that still does not really give you an idea of the terror of being in one of these.

The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM) is the United States' official memorial to the Holocaust. Adjacent to the National Mall in Washington, D.C., the USHMM provides for the documentation, study, and interpretation of Holocaust history. It is dedicated to helping leaders and citizens of the world confront hatred, prevent genocide, promote human dignity, and strengthen democracy.[2]
The museum has an operating budget, as of 2015, of $104.6 million.[3] In 2008, the museum had a staff of about 400 employees, 125 contractors, 650 volunteers, 91 Holocaust survivors, and 175,000 members. It had local offices in New York City, Boston, Boca Raton, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Dallas.[4]
Since its dedication on April 22, 1993, the Museum has had nearly 40 million visitors, including more than 10 million school children, 99 heads of state, and more than 3,500 foreign officials from over 211 countries. The Museum's visitors came from all over the world, and less than 10 percent of the Museum's visitors are Jewish. Its website had 25 million visits in 2008 from an average of 100 different countries daily. 35% of these visits were from outside the United States.[2]
The USHMM's collections contain more than 12,750 artifacts, 49 million pages of archival documents, 85,000 historical photographs, a list of over 200,000 registered survivors and their families, 1,000 hours of archival footage, 93,000 library items, and 9,000 oral history testimonies. It also has teacher fellows in every state in the United States and almost 400 university fellows from 26 countries since 1994.[4]
Researchers at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum have documented 42,500 ghettos and concentration camps erected by the Nazis throughout German-controlled areas of Europe from 1933 to 1945.[5]

This is the King George post box set into the stone wall above Monsal Head, I think it's seen more than a few coats of paint over the years

37402 preparing to depart Warrington Bank Quay working a delayed Warrington to Crewe Pathfinder charter. Delayed due to the Daventry to Warrington leg of The Clay Box where 37409 failed and had to be replaced by 37402. 37609 was on the other end.
This was just one of a number of 'mini' charters using the same stock that ran off Crewe on the 21st February, running over night to numerous lines that aren't possible to cover during day light due to service trains. Manchester Airport, Windermere & Blackpool South in the early hours of the 22nd then to Daventry freight terminal during the day, back up to Warrington then to Crewe via Birmingham New Street.
I saw this Red Box project candidate some time ago, when diverted of the dualled section of the A23. Life gets in the way, so it had to wait.
However a trip the Park Cameras (thanks for organising the Birds Day) to buy a new tripod, and so the oportunity presented.
Form the royal cipher, it is from the time of Queen Victoria of the type where a timber, fronted by cast iron, box is built in to the host's wall.
A fine example that is quite tricky to see.
I was looking at some old photos over the weekend of Nemo doing silly things, and in a lot of them he was in boxes. I was thinking that he didn't do things like that anymore, and I realised that it was probably because we don't give him boxes to play with! I felt bad, and found a good Nemo-sized box from my tower of shoeboxes (yeah, I've got to do something about that, as it's almost reached the ceiling now), and he immediately went to sleep in it ^_^
I don't know why cats like boxes so much... They seem to like the feeling of being enclosed in something cat-sized. Maybe that's why they like sinks so much, too.

I found the diagram for the triangle box in my last year's Origami Calender. After folding it, it was obvious that this works for any polygon. So I made some more. Most fun was the square box: Starting with a pentagon, just to end up with something square was kind of weird....

Thanks to Suzee Que for vintage photo.
A cake for a friends 50th birthday. The shoe box is 12x6 and was a challenge for me to gananche and cover. Will stick to round cakes!!
Shoe, pearls and flowers all edible- except diamante button on the bow, nylon thread through the pearls and there is a bamboo skewer in the heel of the shoe.
