Edition of 4 signed boxes

This Box of Shadows collection has been inspired by the work “U.S.A. Surpasses all the genocide records!” that George Maciunas made in 1969 as a way of protest against the Vietnam War pointing out the violence in the world and specially that of the U.S.A.

Now I have wanted to broaden it by showing the number of deaths in the most bloody wars in history of man, always consequence of the ambition of a greedy minority.
I conclude with a card that poses the question of how many casualties will left the global financial crisis that started in 2008, now considered by many as our III War World.
For the time being we have only information about the people killed in protests, occupations and rallies, or of those who have killed themselves bankrupt for junk bonds, subprime credits or whatever other kind of those economy tricks, but we should start counting all the people slowly dying at home in the streets or in hospitals by depression, hunger, shame, or rage due to the cuts in the welfare state.
Inside the box there are 12 cards with a drawing on one side and one of the following texts on the other:
Card 1
Spanish Civil War 1936- 1950: 700,000 dead

We don't have door to door delivery, so most folks in Stayner have a lock box where we can pick up our mail 24/7. This lobby is relatively new and all new boxes were installed during recent renovations. You can see the change in the floor where the lobby was extended.

Mr Box Turtle and I were picking blackberries in the front yard. Hadn't seen the rascal in a while, it has been here for the 32 yrs that I bave lived here and he will likely out live me as they get to be 150 or so. Always enjoy seeing it. Check it's video out. The Muscadinevines seem to provide a challenge for him. .
The only clues that I have so far are these. On the back of one of the boxes there is some hand writing:
“Decoration Day Procession” which later became Veterans Day.
“Crematory”
“1898”

This ceramic box is by Italian maker Bitossi. It is hand-signed, but the numbers are covered by felt, so only Italy can be read. It retains its original Rosenthal-Netter import sticker.

Ulceby Junction signal box. was situated near Immingham in North East Lincolnshire.
The structure was built by the Great Grimsby and Sheffield Junction Railway (Which then amalgamated with the Great Central Railway) later.
Despite an attempt to save the box, It has now been demolished, making way for the Lincolnshire signalling upgrade project.
I am lead to believe that it was a Great Central Railway type 5 box, and was opened in 1910.
It featured a 30 lever frame and was later fitted with a more modern IFS Panel in the late 1980's.
What a pity that it couldnt have been saved for a heritage line.
Full marks to Network Rail for not offering the structure to preservationists. Take a bow you corporate clowns.
There is something very human and personal with signalboxes, - maybe its because theyre (mostly!) permanently manned and are from another era?
