Macro Mondays theme. July 10th: Bottoms Up.

Normally, no one sees the bottom of this small moth.

Fortunately she was sitting on our window.

And the window was almost clean :-)))

In the background our garden.

and of course, less than 3"

Who knew glitter nail polish looks so pretty when viewed with a macro lens! Looking through the bottom of the glitter nail polish bottle for Macro Mondays "Bottoms Up" theme. HMM!

Pretty much self explanatory, don't you think?

Spotted these two ducks feeding at a nearby lake on a sunny but chilly winter's afternoon.

Othmarsheim, France

These ducks truly are bottom feeders. What they find I've no idea but it surely is there somewhere near St.John's, NL, Canada.

This little frog was "walking" across my living room window, right in front of the day lillies. I grabbed the camera just in time.

A quick decision today, because I did not want to come up with the 101st spice mill (though it has a nice stylized cutlery/lily emblem on it), or yet another soap dispenser. I've seen so many fine captures of both today already.

This is the crumb collector of my toaster, and it smiled at me when I removed the crumbs today after breakfast, so it goes to the group's pool for "Bottom Up". Size: 2,71654 x 1,37795 inches (6,9 x 3,5 cm).

Thank you for your kind comments, I appreciate every single one, and your faves!

A Happy Macro Monday, Everyone!

Have a great week, everyone! 😊

This is the bottom of the 2lb weight that I use for measuring cooking ingredients. The whole diameter of the bottom of the weight is less than 3inches, so rather than being brassed off and embarrassed as I was last week for not fulfilling the brief I've made sure it's much less than 3 inches this week :)

Thanks for all the views, faves and comments.HMM

WATER, SALT AND SAUCE AND THAT'S IT!!!

Durum wheat pasta is the classic short pasta that is found in the homes of all Italians.

Durum wheat pasta often appeared in the stories of our grandparents: in their time it was made at home with manual presses and required a much more laborious preparation than today.

For those who love tradition, and have a planetary mixer, with the right die, it is child's play to prepare a thousand different alternatives.....for all needs and for all budgets.

Homemade durum wheat pasta does not need much introduction: it is a mixture of durum wheat flour and water, nothing simpler.

Durum wheat semolina pasta, to be named as such, must be the result of the drawing, rolling and drying of a mixture prepared exclusively with durum wheat semolina and water, without the addition of coloring substances and preservatives. The particular properties of durum wheat ensure that the starch does not disperse and therefore the pasta does not overcook, ensuring that it holds up during cooking and a dish with a unique and authentic flavour.

This is part of the underneath of one of my paper trimmers. I took one photo and when I saw it on the computer screen I realised how dusty it was so cleaned it and took another photo. There is still some dust but that's macro for you...who dusts their paper trimmer! ;) HMM

This is the bottom of a turned wooden bowl made from birdseye maple. It shows the dovetail carved into the bottom that allows it to be gripped by the lathe in order to hollow out the inside of the bowl. This is a small bowl, and this section is less than 2 inches across. For reference, see www.flickr.com/photos/101440531@N06/35826895965/in/datepo.... Taken for Macro Mondays theme "Bottoms Up". A macro image of a flower stem and petals. Water droplets were added with a spray bottle to add some texture. Strobist info: One YN 568EXii to the left of the camera, modified with a small softbox and fired at about 1/2 power. The YN was attached to the camera with an OCF cord, and acted as a optical master to trigger a Canon 430 EXii to camera right modified with a stofen diffuser, fired at 1/64 power. For this shot, I turned the beer upside down to get the bubbles up top and to be 'bottoms up' for the Macro Monday theme this week. I also placed a colorful backdrop under it to get the colors reflective on the bottle. My favorite part of using a beer for the theme is that it has dual meaning. HMM!
