With training in full swing on their replacements I thought I'd better grab a few more shots of these before they disappear. Here 769002 is in the frame as it approaches Llanishen with 2R08 11:03 Penarth to Rhymney.

C14 and C6 arrive into Minto with Run 40-F to Macarthur.

The Burlington Northern ran its Covered Wagons until 1982. On 03-14-1981 I visited BN's Northtown yard and shops, signed a release and wandered about taking this image. No hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses or safety shoes were required. Upon photographing these two EMD F9A's, I noted a slight difference in the nose striping. Can you spot the difference? The 774 is ex Northern Pacific 6702A. Upon the 1970 BN merger, she was renumbered to BN 9808 placed into passenger service and was retired in April 1982. BN 794 is ex NP 6707A built at La Grange in May of 1955. She was renumbered to BN 9828, hauled passenger trains; was retired in August of 1982, and traded to Generous Electric that same month.

There can't be many 10-plates left with Shearings, and with the influx of shiny new Tourismos arriving, those that remain surely won't be around for much longer.

From September to April thousands of Magellanic penguins breed in borrows in the Reserva faunística provincial Cabo Dos Bahías south of Camarones, Argentina,

Maybe the change in weather has brought the muse.

Here's something new from me today.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIEWS, COMMENTS AND FAVES, ETC.

Oh goody.. My darling Postman has delivered a wonderful little package just in time for my days off which start today..

..Happy Days..!!💃😉💃

A southbound CSX tanker train rolls under a cantilever signal that is on borrowed time and would be removed not long after this 8-12-18 view at Fostoria, OH.

The magnificent flamboyant (Delonix regia) in front of the Federal District Regional Justice Court is still standing, supported by props.

The remaining New York & Greenwood Lake equipment stored in Passaic is living on borrowed time. The Dundee Spur is slated for removal with an eye toward redevelopment. It is unclear if this equipment will be saved. In addition to the two GP9s that are visible here, there are a few pieces of passenger and freight equipment as well as a former LIRR "power pack" Alco FA and a former Erie caboose.

L303 climbs up out of the Lake O dip and past the intermediates at CH 118. The searchlights on the Plymouth Sub are not long for the world, as a bad storm ripped through the area last summer and all but destroyed most of the code line. After issuing a temporary signal suspension for part of the line, the long-standing plans to replace these old signals were finally accelerated, and 2024 sounds like it will be the last year for searchlights on this part of the old Pere Marquette. New signals are already in service from CH 105 east towards Lansing.

After decades of service, this unique cantilever-style signal bridge at CP 434 will soon be replaced as an eastbound CSX train passes. The only remaining example of this style of signal bridge is in Sound Bend, IN.

When the introduction of HSTs to Western Region and Cross Country services in the early 1980s, any Class 50 heading into Birmingham, which required a layover at Saltley, was likely to be 'borrowed' for local workings prior to being returned to its home region. One such example was the 1910 Lawley Street - Felixstowe freightliner which for a period was a regular Class 50 turn as far as, I think, Nuneaton, where electric traction took over. On 10th August 1982 No. 50014 'Warspite' was employed on this turn, and is seen heading away from Saltley and approaching Washwood Heath, with the driver 'notching up' judging by the exhaust. I think you know what I mean. For this weeks Me Again Monday theme "something borrowed" and since a bit of sliding was done here I'll double dip it into "sliders Sunday" too...

Haven't been the best contact lately. Been trying to get around to your streams as I can. Dealing with physical therapy due to those disks in my neck again and just being exhausted. Bare with me, I'll be around soon enough...

Word is that Chiltern will dispense with the Warskips once the Commonwealth Games are over later this summer so sights such as this will be no more.

First opportunity in a while to present as Imogen, and I have to say it was a certainly a pleasure. I was housesitting the home of a dear friend, and couldn't resist trying on some of her wonderful clothes, lingerie and heels. I hope you enjoy this series as much as I did!

Yes,

If you have lost your marbles, you may borrow some of mine.

An earlier work, that I re-touched.

I hope you like it.

I had a pleasure to participate in an arrival of Soom The Gem Vesuvia (owner villemo), so I had to take a few shots. She is drop dead beautiful.

C304 rolls past the Spruce Pine Depot, built by the Clinchfield Railroad in 1923 to replace the South & Western Railroad's (CRR predecessor) structure from

1903. This historic building was submerged under almost 20 feet of water, and as a result got absolutely trashed. It's a miracle it's still standing, but it appears that CSX has decided that they will tear it down at some point in the near future. This isn’t my greatest work by any means, but I’ll take it since it documents something that might not be here in the future.

HLCX EMD SD40M-3 6518 was on lease to the EJ&E for a bit in 2008 and added a little variety to the orange J fleet.

Built for the Seaboard Coast Line as SD45 2035, it was crossing a flooded Clark Road in Gary on a dreary day in Chicagoland.

About five years ago, CalTrans recruited a fleet of old comet cars to help ease capacity on the San Joaquin trains. As apart of the change, a small fleet of Cabbage Cars arrived, painted in the original CalTrain colors. Catching this set, and the cabbage cars, at work has been a goal every time I'm near the San Joaquin's path. However, starting in 2020, new single level passenger cars will arrive. It's safe to assume, once the new cars arrive, the novel comet and cabbage cars will disappear from the rails. So, get them while you can!

CSX autorack train Q241 turns the corner at Deshler, OH from the Garrett Sub to the Toledo Sub, pulling under the B&O color position light signal at North Deshler. This cantilever signal bridge still guards the interlocking today, but like many others before it, will soon be replaced with modern PTC equipped signals.

Crossing a snowy taiga forest without looking isn't particulary smart, because, guess what, lava lake aren't that rare.

Oh, another Minecraft moc! Is it the starting of a serie? Maybe, who knows? The 12x12 scale and the isometric angle is looking great in my opinion, not too small but not too big such as a chunk.

Happy to have been able to use the

2x2 Jumper in Sand Green that I ordered recently.

For the berry bush, I got inspired by the design from

Cheesey Studio in his

The Snowy Taiga moc.

Hope you like it :)

And, maybe, just maybe, see you for the third moc ;)

The main purpose of our trip to the Upper Peninsula was to shoot some images of Empire before its closure this fall. The plant's stockpiles are reasonable but far from the golden years of production. Empire first shipped pellets in 1964 was was expanded a number of times to a maximum production capacity of 8 million tons (less in recent years). Its declining ore body and high stripping costs have resulted in its pending closure.

Ireland

From my time in Ireland last November. I was walking with my friend to explore an abandoned monastery, we had no plan of shooting anything but I began taking pictures with him leading the way down the hill. When I got settled back at home I started to turn one of the random images into a concept. It’s a very different way to work for me when usually I have a concept first but none the less I’m happy with the result. Sometimes the destination is unknown but if you go with your instincts you’ll find what you didn’t know you were looking for.

The first band of Saturday's snow peaked at Norfolk Southern train 290 came east through Shippensburg. There was no black on this autorack/intermodal train as borrowed power from CIT Group and Canadian Pacific hustled the train from Alabama up to New Jersey.

With all the Heathrow based 747's of Virgin now gone, it's only a matter of time before we see the end of the line at Manchester. G-VGAL 'Jersey Girl' will soon be celebrating her 16th birthday and is seen arriving literally minutes before sunrise at Manchester Airport.

You don't take a photograph. You ask, quietly, to borrow it.

Eis o Something Borrowed, terceiro - e meu preferido - vidrinho da coleção Best of Luck, by Dany Vianna.
