Linus always looks cool and relaxed in photos but in fact he is quite a jumpy cat. Some training for Halloween is required, especially as my nephews tend to overdo things at this time of year. Step one of the training: systematic desensitisation.... :)

Peek a Boo - I was going through old files and realized I'd never shared this image! The distance was large and this is a tight crop, but this was a truly special moment seeing these two young Bobkittens at ~3 months of age playing in the oak savannah. Not sure I'll ever see anything like this again, but hoping I do!

It is my ardent belief that we can all find beauty, wherever we go, if only we open our eyes and see it. I had to take a trip to see my doctor the other day and as I was waiting for the tram to go home after my consultation, I happened to notice a few pretty pink ornamental flowering almond blossoms poking through a hedge as I waited. They appeared to be saying: "peek-a-boo - we see you. Do you see us?" I'm so glad that I did see them, as I love the pink and white blossoms of the flowering almond, and they gave me a much needed smile. They are so delicate and pretty, how can one not smile when seeing them?
Spring is slowly returning to Melbourne, not that you would think so today, with extremely low temperatures and gusty winds, but when I took this photo earlier in the week, it had been a cool, yet sunny day which is typical of early spring days in Melbourne.
A spring-blooming shrub, flowering almond is a beautiful addition to any garden with sweet pink double blossoms. Sometimes the flowers are followed by small round red fruit coveted by squirrels. This shrub can grow ten to fifteen feet tall, but there is also a dwarf flowering almond (Prunus glandulosa) with pink or white flowers that grows only four to five feet tall.
Black & white of my sweet girl Boo. She gets to be my 500th photo I've posted since joining flickr a few years ago. Photo was pretty noisy due to poor light, so was a good opportunity to make it into a vintage looking black and white.
Peek a Boo - I love photographing owls in cavities, and this was my first opportunity to do so with a Great-horned Owl. Special thanks to a good friend for his expertise with this species & making this image possible. We initially thought this was a potential nest site, but it turned out to be a prey cache. I really enjoy photographing owls during their crepuscular/nocturnal activity periods as they are more relaxed during these times and their behavior is more interesting. Furthermore, modern cameras and post-processing software are so advanced, that high ISO is no longer a problem.

I've named him or her Boo as they always seem to have a look of surprise. Poor Boo has frostbite on each ear and on the tip of the tail. It's been a wickedly cold winter but we're warming up this week a bit.
I was trying to get a nice photo of Monsieur Boo Lefou with the leaf pile. He was more interested in trying to catch every falling leaf. So I followed him around taking shots of the speedster, finally got one that wasn't a big blur. LOL
I would like to thank all of you that have taken the time to view and comment on my photos, it is very much appreciated.
Have a great week Flickr friends. Tina & the Puglets xo
Had Boo pose in front of the hydrangeas for her portrait today. She was very serious about her task . . . she wanted some chicken!

I think this is a quite funny snapshot of Leo. As usual he was eating away on the grass on my roof terrace and then I appeared with the camera ! :)
With heartfelt and genuine thanks for your kind visit. Have a beautiful day, be well, keep your eyes open, appreciate the beauty surrounding you, enjoy creating, stay safe, and laugh often! ❤️❤️❤️
I flushed this Screech Owl as I walked beneath a large live oak near the Devils River but it only flew about 10 feet before perching again at eye level. It is probably an Eastern, but hard to tell since it didn't say boo.
